I was employed as a hair stylist at the Great Clips ******* OK location that served *****************, owned by **********. For the 7-8 months I was employed here, I experienced discrimination directed at me that resulted in my departure. Leading up to my injury sustained while on duty, I was also the target of bullying and a smear campaign initiated by management. I was insulted for my weight and for my appearance. I also witnessed the same manager stealing money from the register, while the other manager was complicit with the act and helping cover it up. I was the target of unwarranted hostility and passive aggression from management. After being directed to clean, I began crawling around on my hands and knees to clean the base of the salon chairs and began having intense hip pain that led to me paying out of pocket for an urgent care visit just to have a few days off to help with the pain. The general manager terminated me over the phone during a hostile conversation about how she suspected I'd file for workers compensation. After realizing that it's illegal to fire someone for getting hurt, that same manager called me back to notify I could keep my job. Within this same conversation this manager also divulged slanderous gossip about a former employee that was let go due to her drug addiction.Within a month's time local management was instructed to keep tabs on my every move to ensure they could begin writing me up for random trivial incidents or just manufacture them to push me to quit. Once I quit my final paycheck was held at a different location that was 40 minutes further than my place of employment. My check was also held for longer that 3 days which put them in non-compliance with Oklahoma labor laws. One illegal practice this company employs is the use of coercion to get former employees to waive their right to unemployment before releasing their final paycheck. This treatment of employees is common and has resulted in a wrongful termination lawsuit.

On the afternoon of May 30th, 2024, I went to ************************* located at *************************. in *************, **. I saw the stylist ***** for a short 1 level haircut. I had previously been to this salon without any problems. ***** was a new stylist there. Initially, I saw a problem with her services because a cosmetology license was not placed on her desk or mirror as required by law. I requested 2 shampoos and a Dutch Boy hair cut with 1 -2 inches off the ends of the bottom of my hair. She struggled with the hair cut for about 1 hour. She started layering my hair wherein I told her that I did not want any layers but, just a short Dutch boy hair cut. She finished the hair cut where I requested she check it all over because the left side was longer than the right side. She then corrected the error. I reviewed my wet hair cut after being in her chair for over 1 hour. It appeared fine. I didn't let her blow dry my hair so I left with wet hair. She gave me $4 discount for a sr. ******* hair cut. (I am 62 yrs old.) I went home and blow dryed my hair to find that my hair was greatly uneven on the right rear of my head. The rest of the cut was fine. I then reported the error to the Great Clips customer service department by email. Later that day, I went to another nearby salon to correct my hair cut. The other stylist said that the hair cut was even except for the back of my head on the right bottom wherein she butchered it. He corrected the cut evenly as best as he could. He said that my hair would need to grow out 1 & a 1/2 inches to be even in the back. Further, the other salon's receptionist said that she was acquainted with the stylist ***** who was known as a "kook". Please let the consumer beware as to not to see the stylist ***** at *************************. It is a waste of your time and money. ***** is a tall white female in her mid 60's. i later found out that she was seen in prison on illicit drug charges.
