We hired *************************, our next door neighbor, to do extensive work to the exterior of our home and make a therapeutic area in the back for my husband, he is an Army Veteran and 100% disabled. I am going to start by saying ************************* the owner and operator of A** METRO PAINTING AND CONSTRUCTION is a CON ARTIST! He took our money and did the bare minimum, at best, throughout the entire job! That is the parts that he actually finished. I have crooked, bowed and split in half fence panel. The new guttering is scratched and the custom color extension for the guttering is the wrong color, the doorbell only rings outside ONLY. They patched holes in the brick mortar with broken off pieces of wood, that is from where they drilled a breaker box in the wrong place. The wiring his electrician provided to our hot tub is wired wrong. There are several braces on the pergola that do not look like quality wood, the center post is cracked all the way through top to bottom. We had a fireplace put in and he made it smaller than the spray painted, marked line. He put an unasked for fence around our ** unit that cost us a $700 repair bill bc the ** wasn't getting enough air. He hung our Amish porch swing with chain instead of the recommended rope. He left tools, trash, materials etc in the yard for weeks. There was a child living here at that time. There were several other things he refused to do then I called him out on ********* He came over and painted some see through areas in the paint and changed a FEW fence panels, not all that needed replaced and cut the fence away from the ** unit. All of the top stuff is still the way he left it and refuses to fix it. He got all but a very small amount of money. We trusted him being a Veterean like my husband and being our next door neighbors. We trusted the wrong people and are paying for it.Stay away from this company, they change their name often as well!Business Response

In response to complainant Case #********, *********************. This was a job completed for our next door neighbor, they were renting their house out to three young college students, great kids but they had alot of parties! This is an important fact. we did a paint and fencing and guttering job for them, as well as hung a few items and put up a pergola. All this work was completed in June of 2023! They walked and sent glowing texts about how good the house looked after the repairs. The renters partied in that house for 5 months after we repaired it before they asked them to leave. ***** is 100% disabled with a military head injury, he does not think or process well, for him its as if we just did the work. They decided to move back in in October, like i said 5 months after the work was completed and they had walked it and approved it.- The Fence was completed and stained and looked great, during the heat wave, the month after we installed I advised that the fence be kept moist as it was still new and curing and the extreme heat would cause it to dry to quickly and cause it to warp. No preventative measures were taken, In the end as a good neighbor, I replaced the wood and restrained it for them. I say as a neighbor because they failed to maintain it during a crisis, and left it for 5 months with renters.
- Guttering scratched, this is documented on video where she says the gutter is scratched but then realized it is dirt as we do a walk around. and if it was a scratch, this is 5 months of storms and wind and renters later.
- Doorbell was provided by owner to install, it is a ring doorbell, they have to buy the internal home chime or have an ***** device installed to have it ring inside.
- We did not patch mortar, the electrician is his own contractor, we are not electricians.
- Pergola-again we advised for them to care for new wood, in our walk around we looked at it and the wood is just variations in wood, all the same quality as the next. Not one 2x4 is the same pattern as the next. As for the split in the wood beam, its a rustic rough wood post that has striations and variations, its meant to look rustic. They are aware of this. they are purchased this way.
- We did not install a fireplace, they asked us to straighten the rocks and metal edging on a rock area, that a fireplace can go in as they felt is was crooked, the spray paint on the grass, is yard spray marker, you use it to set the line to follow, it goes away with rain. we did this in October as a follow up to their complaints.
- Fence around the ** was asked for by *****, it was an option and agreed to, we do not put up free fencing.
- The chain for the porch swing as well as the swing itself was all provided for and purchased by owner, we just hung it! They brought it from lowes for us to install!
- We did not leave any of our tools there, we need them, the materials and trash they claim we left was left over paint we left with the renters, as it belongs to the house, they didnt want it in the garage and put it in the backyard, they also had random wood from previous fence repairs. Again, the claim of the trash was three months after the completed job. The renters had been partying and living in it, and the oklahoma swirl wind bring in trash constantly. I knew the renters well and they never notified me of any debris.
This came down to us telling them that they still owed us money for the house, as she stated, they owe more than $1,000. Also me telling them that the renters did the damage to what they had already given a thumbs up on, when completed. We asked to meet with them to explain the details they pointed out and stood us up 4 times! Giving excuses such as we have a Dr. **** on a Sunday at 5pm! This would come 5min before we would set to meet. We know them well and know that ***** is an alcoholic in stage four sorosis of the liver, and ***** has a head injury so severe that he doesnt understand what's going on. We returned multiple times as good neighbors, and the house looks great. 5 months of abuse by renters and ******** Wind and Storms and Sun Did damage to this house. This house was completed again in June of 2023!

I was over charged $1165.00 8/16/23. I paid the $1165.00 7/28/23 to pay for the materials for the job and was charged the full amount of $2350.00 on 8/16/23. ****** admitted he has over charged me but will not refund the money. He was to come back to do the final touch *** etc. and refuses to do so. I have sent him pictures of the problems but he says he doesnt have them. I have all my text of the pictures I have sent him and the conversation of the money he owes me. He is now trying to charge me for cutting a whole in the block wall he says took 4 hours. He said the electrician was to cut the hole. I have called several electricians and was told by all of them it is the contractor that cuts in the hole and is to be included in the estimate he gave me. He is also trying to charge me for the trim that was put down when the plank vinyl was installed. I was given an estimate and nothing was said about the trim would be an extra charge until I got serious about refunding my money. I have never gotten invoices on these charges. He wanted to take the charges off what he owes me without him even giving me an invoice of the amount and I said no, I want the total amount that was over charged. When they power washed my house it looked worse when they finished, I sent him pictures but he made excuses so I hand washed all the vinyl on the entire house. When the ceilings were painted they rolled some on the walls and he told me I should have had the paint matched up so I had to paint my walls. They should have trimmed it in. He had his crew do the siding and there are places where they didnt cut it correctly and there is gaps on the corners and the trim around my front door is horrible. I have pictures of all of this and I sent them to him. He started off really caring and helpful but I think that was to gain my trust which he did and now it has cost me dearly.Business Response

In response to complainant Case #********, *****************************. We took over this job as her previous contractor had abandoned the project and left ***** with a very damaged home that was incomplete and work that had been done was very poor and done in a very bad manner. Unfortunately for ***** that contractor was also her Son-in-Law and daughter, they ran some sub-contractors to do the job and left her with a mess of bad work and incomplete work when the money dried up. So we walked in to a very distraught untrusting Person as this just happened by her own flesh and blood.1.We came in to repair the roofing initially and did so. The roofing check bounced and ***** the home owner was ultimately responsible for it. But we ended up collecting most, but left over was homeowners responsibility.2. Daughter and Son in Law built her out a new facia, the facia was to big and destroyed the siding channels and mounts. We offered a full siding replacement, but because they had used up the insurance money, asked if we could just spot replace boards. we agreed but informed her that some of the undermounts would not match as they were meant for the previous facia setup. If she did not want to do the full replacement some places would have some issues, gaps and such, cuts that dont match, but we would move all the good pieces to the visible areas and replace a few others and move the bad pieces to the hard to see areas in the back, side corners. She agreed and we agreed we would do the best possible for a limited budget. basically she wanted the cracked ones replaced and the good channels moved to the front and bad to the back. So there are some items that have cuts from the previous contractors work that we moved to hard to see places at her discretion. we even when the extra mile and provided extra pieces that we covered cost for just to make sure we had enough pieces. It looks great! We even did a touch up on it as she called out a couple of spots, even though we knew that those were from the old pieces, just because we had done so much work and wanted to have it look good, we did not have to do that, but being that she was almost maybe 75 years old, we didn't want to argue and remind her she gave the ok to move those.3. We did complete sheetrock repair in her house as it was collapsed and her Daughter and Son in Law left undone, we painted all, and completely painted the exterior of her home.4. We completed our work and she paid us and gave us a glowing review of five stars and a high recommendation on our other platforms.5. This is where it gets complicated, she asked us to do more work as she wanted to build out a bathroom, we had a deposit she had given us and said ok, we will begin work since we have that, as we always require 50% down. For this reason I may add.6. We were contracted to put up sheetrock and ********* board, and lay Vinyl Plank in the bathroom. she said she would paint and lay some trim as this was a new build and she needed to save money. When we arrived to put up sheetrock after we framed, the electrician was there installing the Exhaust Vent, he wired it up and we informed *****, we are about to cover this up, but the plumber has not made the hole or vented it out the side wall, which was made of 8" Cinder Block. The electrician was asked and he refused to do it, said he only wires it. So she called a plumber but said it would be to long to wait and didn't want to stop progress. She asked my crew if they could and they told her they would need a special bit to drill a 4" diameter hole into cinder block and have to buy the vent materials, and then just would be the amount of time lost from us doing our contracted job, all in all the trip to and from the closest Loews, the drilling of the block and the installing of the vent was 4 hours. Very reasonable amount of time spent, considering 2 trips to the store, and letting the drill bit cool and complete installation. So while she is correct that the contractor should cut the hole, venting and pipes are a plumbers job, her contracted plumber failed to do so, we were not the contractor for this job originally, so for us to do the install, yes it has to be added and paid for. This job was added to her total she was aware and agreed, she also used my team to stop work and make runs to the hardware store for her, that delayed their work time. As she was doing a lot of repairs herself in other places.7. The trim- she is correct in saying that when a contractor lays flooring, we remove the trim and put back after we lay new flooring, as we need to get all the way up to the wall with the tile, all part of the quote. The problem in this case is that being a new build, there was no trim, and because she was on a budget, she said she would lay flooring, and buy some trim later to put down herself. We laid the flooring based on no trim being installed. After the bathroom job was done complete paint and all, she looked and decided she wanted some kind of trim, so she went and bought some, this is like a week later mind you, we were just touching up. she shows up and asked my guys if they would lay the trim, we priced it and she agreed.8. We did 4 Return trips to do touchup! I noted that to her in text, also reminded her she walked around with my guy and pointed out spots and he would fix them as they walked. She would thank them and afterwards and release them.9. After I cut off the trips for touchup, she said she overpaid, I told her I would reconcile and mail any money owed back to her if there was any. I knew there wasn't and actually she owed us like just a little over 100 dollars for material she would send my guys to bring her for her projects but we didn't hassle with it. And I explained what she thought was overpayment and where it went. At which point she started stating that we should not have charged her for the trim and installation of the Vent.
We went over the top for her, and I want to say that she was a banker before she retired and worked in debt, she was very calculated and wrote everything down, she knows what she paid is correct, but she is angry we had to cut off the return trips, and started taking partial information from calls to other contractors and building her own conclusions about what is included in a job and what not. This is the issue. Her plumber failed to make the hole, and vent out, he owes her. We get paid to do it. New build gets flooring done, yes if you add trim to the job, it gets paid by the foot to lay it.Like i said, I feel that this review is bogus, due to the fact that she wrote us a growing review when we finished. This is about her family taking her money on the original contract, and feeling like everyone is trying to rob her.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The company aac metro paint and construction owned by ************************* was hired by a roofing company to put a new roof on my home the tornado tore off on 5/11/23. It also pretty much destroyed my husbands shop. It was on local news channels 5/12/23.
They painted the outside of the house before they started on the ceilings and they did a good job. He asked me if I would give him a review and sent me the website. I gave him a good review because at that time I was pleased with the work. I tried later to go back to that website to remove the review. He never came to fix it so I had to get on a ladder and paint the wood they didnt and my 80 year old husband had to get on a ladder and fix the trim.
this is what the siding looked like after they power washed it.

aac metro paint and construction was sub contracted for the roof but was contractor for the painting, siding, construction of the bathroom, ceilings and construction of the bathroom.Customer Answer

I found the estimate for the siding. I also have the text about the hole they cut in the block wall saying it took them 2 hours. He said in the dispute it took them 4 hours, that is something I could prove he does not tell the truth. I also know he got everything that was owed him for the roof he was sub contracted for. That is how I met ****** and he told me when he came to give the estimate for painting the soffit he was a contractor and he had crews to do everything I needed done. The man that came to lay the floor hadnt shown up before I had to leave at 9:30 so I left the door unlocked and everything he needed to lay the floor for him. When I got back a little after 12 a.m. he was loading up his tools and left. He did a good job. It was ************************************************* yet. I paid ****** $395.00. The $1195.00 was for the materials for the bathroom and that was to be subtracted from the $*******. When he came to get paid for the bathroom he told me he didnt get the money for the materials and charged me the full amount of $ *******. I thought I had but I couldnt be sure so I paid the full amount. I went through all my checks that was written and found where I did pay him for the materials 7/28/23 ck# ****. They didnt finish the bathroom until 8/16/23 and I paid acc metro paint and construction that day ck# **** in the amount of $*******. The amount should have been $ 1185.00.Business Response

As I have stated prior, the total time for the job was 4 hours, Cutting the hole was 2 hours, installing the Vent itself and the trips required to pick up the materials all contributed to the total time lost on the last min, job we were asked to do before we could do the job we were contracted for. Not to mention the cost of the materials and tools we advised her we would need to purchase. The tile in the bathroom was never an issue, as she stated she paid for the tile a very low price of 5.25/sq ft labor and material. As she said she inspected and paid for the job and was a good job, she stated this in her statement. If there was to be trim included in the laying of the floor, why did she say it was a good job and pay for it? Her whole claim was that trim was included. As I stated before, the trim was added and needs to be charged! She cannot agree to have a job done and then come back and state that she heard from others that trim should be included, as she said herself in her statement. This is a false claim, and needs to be removed. Her whole claim is based on statements after the fact because she feels from info from others that stuff should have been included when it should not have been.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I have given the text to the BBB that you said it took 2 hours. Nothing was ever said to me that there was an additional charge until I requested the over charge of $ ******* for materials. I sent the copies of the checks that you received. I have never received an invoice for the charge for the hole or the trim you say I owe for. I paid cash of $40.00 for the tool that was purchased and you kept the tool. You told me that was for the cover for the plumbing. The floor was not tile that was laid. It was plank vinyl. We can go back and forth like this forever. You know you are in the wrong. I know you arent going to repay the over charge or you would have taken care of it 5 months ago. Im just hoping no one else hires you and has to go through what I have with you. You never even came back to take care of the final you said you would after I trusted you and paid you in full. I asked you for receipt's for the payments for tax purposes and I have never received them so I had to copy all the checks I have given you. You know you are in the wrong. I fired you before you started on the shop because I found you were taking advantage of me. You were going to order 22 trusses and I only needed 10. You measured the roof incorrectly so the metal you ordered for me was not correct. The company I hired had to piece some metal roofing in.You never showed when you said you was coming and never even called. When I contacted you I got excuses. I think you need to find a different profession.Sincerely,

I am sorry that you disagree with the charge. But the addition of charges for the the 2 hours of Drilling and the two hours of labor for materials and installation of the vent is correct. Your assessment after the fact that you feel you should get a refund because you believe that you should pay less is incorrect. The work was done and the paid for. As for your problem with the rafters, that company of framers quoted you a secure shed that matched what you had, if you built it with less rafters and made it less sturdy and safe, that is a personal decision. I remember you being told that they will not frame an unsafe structure when you asked to use less or reuse old wood. That is not an option.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
1. I never received an invoice for cutting the hole in the wall or a verbal quote. I think $1165.00 is way excessive. It is your way of keeping my money.
2. you should know as a contractor a building has to be inspected and the shop passed with flying colors with 10 rafters so again you are giving false information. Im done, I have given documentation and proved the way you do business.Sincerely,
