I contracted ***** with Pizano Construction in late September to replace the roof and some siding on my house after Hurricane *****. This transaction was facilitated through an insurance claim with ******************************** (****). The roof was installed in early October. The roof initially failed inspection a few days after instillation. Pizano made repairs and then a second inspection was preformed and the roof also failed inspection. Throughout this ***** had insisted I urgently pay them, which I ultimately did before the second inspection. The siding was never installed and was completely overlooked at the time of the roof installation. Since then the siding has yet to be installed; over a month later. ***** has been difficult to get in tough with and has told me incorrect information. The billing had to be adjusted as it did not match up to the estimate I was originally given. I have been in contact with the main office multiple times and attempted to speak with ******* supervisor, who is apparently the owner of the company. I have not been contacted by the owner. I have a compressed folder containing screenshots of calls and texts, photos of the house, inspection reports, estimates and invoices. I can email that in addition to the uploaded document.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/19/2024

Good morning I have spoken with Mrs. ******* & explained the area that is believed to have missing siding is an attic ventilation. Although she did mention to our sales representative, she wanted that area sealed & covered, the information was not communicated with the men that went out & did the repairs.  Attic ventilation will be sealed & covered in siding as customer wishes.   (I have attached a picture of the attic ventilation)

As of today 11/19/2024 roof inspection has not passed. We do have a crew out today 11/19/2024. We are expecting to have inspection passed by 11/25/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

I am attaching a screenshot of all of the communication to date from the owner of this company. I am now concerned that there is potentially a leak in my roof but am not at the house to assess it. I am very frustrated. I am not a contractor or roofer in any capacity; I should not be expected to know what the particular section of siding is called. I showed ***** the pieces that were removed in the storm and where they came from and asked him to include the replacement of them in the work I hired Pizano to do. That was never done. The original estimate only included one side being replaced instead of both like I asked. I also had Pizano quote me for interior work that was never brought up after the quote was given. I am thankful I found someone else to do that work. I do not believe that this reply is satisfactory as it in no way addresses my complaints. I have also not had consistent or clear communication from this business. I would like to speak with the owner and ensure (by a 3rd party) that the work is completed satisfactorily. I would also like to discuss an adjustment of my invoice. It is highly unprofessional that I asked for services that were not performed, was badgered to pay the balance for the roof (that did not match the original estimate), and that the work that has been done is sub-par and unable to pass an inspection even after being "fixed" twice. Considering this roof was replaced after damages from a hurricane it is of great import that it be able to withstand future damages.

      Sincerely,

      **** ******

      Business Response

      Date: 12/04/2024

We understand Mrs. ****** is no contractor nor roofer, she explained the need of the attic ventilation, & what could happen if it was covered, after explaining,  Mrs. ****** was given the option to cover the attic ventilation or have it painted. Into which she decided to go with painting it. & that was done. In this case it was just an error of miss-communication between our salesmen & the men that went out to complete the siding. We are very sorry & apologize the roof inspection took a few try's before passing, but we are excited the exterior project is complete, and up to ***************************** standards & Compliance with Building code under 28 Texas Administrative Code.
In which there should be no concerns for any leaks. However if any issues arise in the future, in regard to defects in workmanship it's covered under our 5 Year workmanship Warranty.

In regard to invoicing, I will contact Mrs. ****** to resolve where the issue may be.

I have attached pictures of the inspection process, along with the *** Certificate of compliance that passed on 11/26/2024
