    I purchased an item from this company that did not work and when I sought out the manufacturer for support I found out they had gone out of business. By the way, I had it professionally installed. With the faulty part and no support it seemed like Lewis RV would want to make it right, but I was unceremoniously advised they would not refund for a part that had been installed. I would never buy another thing from this company!     To whom it may concern,

    This customer purchased a soft-start system from our store on July 6, 2024.  At the time of purchase the customer was made aware of our 2 return policies.  1) We do not allow returns on special order or electrical items.  2) We do not allow returns on any item after it has been installed.  Both policies are CLEARLY posted at the customers level at check out and emphasized in black and red lettering.  It is also printed on the customers copy of the printed receipt.  This customer purchased and had a 3rd party install the soft-start system for him.  After the third party (a ****************** that we are not acquainted with) installed the soft-start system the customer stated that the item did not work.  The customer called to talk about returning the item and we told them since they installed the system (which did include wiring) that we would not be able to offer them a refund per our posted policy.  In a rip off report online the customer has given details to what the item is doing that he believes is a malfunction.  From the customers details it sounds like the item was wired incorrectly.  This improper installation would cause what the customer is stating and would damage the soft start system.  For clarification the item would have performed correctly had it not been installed incorrectly.  Since the customer used a third party to install the part and we were not part of this all we can go off is what the customer said was happening after the installation.  We have sold and installed these parts on other RVs with zero issues.  This further leads us to believe that the other company wired it incorrectly and the customer is wanting us to be responsible for their error.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    After I made complaint to Lewis RV that the part would not function as designed and Lewis RV was not able to provide a valid customer service number for the company.  After calling the number they did provide for the company, I have never received a call back. ******, one of the employees I spoke to even told me that the phone number she provided was from a 2 year old email  

    I did multiple online searches and the web page for the company was defunct and I could find no other contact information for them  

    further, ******* said she would let me know if she was able to find a good number, never heard back from them with contact info for the now defunct company.

    And yes, I was told by the original salesperson that it could be installed in 4 easy steps according to the instructions, but they weren't really all that straightforward, so yes, I hired a professional to install the unit.

    Finally, I ordered a new soft start from another company and had the same RV tech, who is an engineer BTW, install the new soft start on my RV and it has been running for the better part of 2 months without so much as a hiccup.

    It is clear to me that the part in question is simply a defective part.  And given that their supplier is out of business it seems like they are trying to stiff me for $380 and as a senior on social security I will not rest until they do the right thing and refund my money. 

    A business should not be allowed to rip people off like this!!!

    As previously stated, per our posted return policy we do not accept returns on installed items.  The customer did call  for contact information for the manufacture.  We did an extensive search (which the customer is unaware of) on locating someone to speak with at the company.  When we could not get through to anyone we offered, multiple times, to speak with the customer about the issues he was having to see if we could help diagnose what was happening with his system.  The customer never took any opportunity to participate in these discussions.  Furthermore, the customer also came into our store on Friday, August 22nd and took multiple pictures of our facility.  When asked if we could help with anything he denied help.  The customer has proven that he has not had any interest in any remedy other than a one that violates our return policy.  We regret that the customer thinks that we are trying to stiff him and more regrettable that he is implying that it is because he is a senior.  We wish the customer would have come in and spoken with us in July as we offered and would have given us the details about the problem he was having at that time so that we may have helped him.

    We are glad that the customer now has a system pleases him.  We wish him the best of luck in his continued camping.

    We are interested in getting assistance with a dispute with Lewis RV. We bought a $100k camper, April 1st 2022. Took the camper in June 1st 2022 for basic warranty check up/repairs. They have had our camper since June 1st 2022. We have made a couple visits to check on our camper after they text several time and said it was ready to be picked up. The camper was not done either time, it is now Christmas. We have paid $14k+ on this camper and have never had it hooked to water and there was definitely water in the lines when we arrived to pick it up 12/16/22. However, when we went to pick up the camper 12/16/22 the camper is still having mechanical issues, we are done with this company and their run around. We would like to proceed with a dispute and see if BBB can assist with this. We are looking for a refund, after looking online at their reviews we feel as if they have done this to lots of customers.
