I went in for an emergency exam which is advertised as $48 on their website. They then billed my insurance over $100 leaving me responsible for just over $51. I have messaged them 3 different times without a response. Dishonest business practices!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/13) */ Contact Name and Title: Karla ********, COO Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: *****@918dentist.com 918Dentist advertised $48 emergency special is not a dishonest practice, it is caring business practice and the emergency special applies to non-insured patients. Since we are contracted with your insurance company we are required by law to bill the fee dictated by your insurance. According to your insurance policy you still had an unmet deductible of $50 dollars at time of visit. In order to honor the $48 emergency special we would have to not bill your insurance at all. We can retract the claim, refund the insurance and have you self-pay the $48 instead. Please contact me if you would like me to move forward. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/10/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Nowhere on the website did it say the $48 emergency exam was for uninsured patients only and I have the screenshots to prove it. At no time did any of the staff inform me that it was for uninsured patients. You can lie without saying a word it's called lies of omission hence the dishonest business practice. I find it funny 918 dentist wouldn't respond to my 3 attempts to correspond with with them by message and text until I filed this complaint. I see 918 Dentist has has since updated their website after me filing this complaint to include the disclaimer that the emergency exam price if for the uninsured only. That is a step in the right direction so more patients won't be mislead. I will be more than happy to pay $48 this is what I've been trying to say since the beginning. Mail me a $48 bill and you will get your payment.
