I first became aware of ***** **** in September 2022. I was familiar with his company S & S Fabrication. He has been a customer for over 5 years. I became involved when a couple of his welding machines were brought in for repair. One was repaired for issues that weren't related to the warranty on the machine. The cost to repair was $206.76. I spoke with ***** about his concerns and he was upset the machines were out of warranty. I apologized for this and said I would look into it. I was able to determine they were new machines, not used & returned prior to his purchase of them, as he has indicated in his complaint. One machine had been on our floor for awhile, and the other had been at another location. I explained this to him, and that the manufacturer Miller Electric requires the machines still on hand to be registered before the end of the fiscal year. He felt that he had been deceived by Lampton for not disclosing that the warranty had already begun.
I believe this wasn't done intentionally by our salesperson. He was given a discount at the time he purchased them.

When I spoke with ***** about the issues he was having with these machines, it was determined that they were being overloaded, causing it to shut off in the middle of welding. I explained why this was the case, and that the machines he purchased aren't designed to be used the way he was using them.
I spent a long time with him to find a machine that would meet his requirements. I was able to find one that would, and offered it to ***** as a discount to do what I could to make it right for him.
I also agreed to refund his repair of $206.76 and refund him $200 for each of these machines he returned to us. One machine was still here in our repair dept awaiting a decision. He ordered 2 new machines.

When he came in to pick up the new machines, he said he wanted to keep one of his machines that had been repaired, as a back up, and decided to only buy one machine.

I'm sorry that ***** had this kind of experience with Lampton Welding Supply, and understand how frustrated he is about it. I worked with him to do what I could to make it right, get him the right equipment for what his welding needs required. I have also discussed with our sales staff the importance of disclosing information regarding warranty.
