I went to this salon and spent $238 for color. I asked for white and was left with under processed, yellow hay colored hair, uneven mids and roots, and bleach spots on my dark hair. The bottom two inches had previous color, so I dont fault the stylist for that. I signed a contract regarding this previously colored hair, and management uses this to claim that even though my hair that was virgin looks terrible, they stand by this. The most they could do was concede that the bleach on my dark hair was an honest mistake and refund the tip I left out of pressure.I understand that it can take more than one bleach to reach a hair goal, but they did a sloppy job and didnt even allow my hair time to fully process - the manager was unwilling to refund me or take responsibility.

Guest was in for color correction service on 11/5/24, which can sometimes be a multi-appointment process, particularly when correcting box color which has the potential to lift/lighten unevenly (guest informed the stylist there was box color previously used on her hair). Over-processing hair too quickly can result in very damaged hair, so lightening to a very light/white blonde in one service is often not achievable. Because of this, our salon utilizes a color correction contract when guests are in for this service that informs the guest of potential cost, potential for multiple services to get to desired result, and that the guest is responsible for the cost of service. Guest signed the contract and secondary service was scheduled for 11/12/24.

Guest contacted salon via text on 11/8/24 to let us know that she was unhappy with results. Guest was contacted by our Communications Director who verified that the color correction contract had been signed. Guest said she did not want to come in for secondary service scheduled for 11/12/24. Guest confirmed on the phone that she attempted to correct results with at-home hair color.

Unfortunately, when a guest does not continue with agreed-upon plan in contract and cancels follow-up service, there is not much more we are able to do. We did refund the gratuity she had left for the stylist and replied to her ****** review (see attached).

I am rejecting this response because: only my ends were a color correction; the rest of my hair had never been colored. Therefore the under-processed mids and roots are both unacceptable and unrelated to the color correction contract. The bleach spots in my dark hair are also unacceptable and highlight the quick and careless work. The business response that it was an honest mistake reflects that they do not care hold themselves accountable for the product they put out. Unfortunately, I could not trust them to continue work on my hair, and requested a refund of the $225+ fee I was charged as reparation.

Prior to this BBB review being written, salon management had already been in contact with this guest via phone call on 11/11/24 to discuss and handle. Because of the nature of the service requested, it was possible that getting to the desired result would take more than one visit, which was a reason for the contract being signed. We made sure to clarify expectations in the signed contract and had originally scheduled her to come in for the follow-up service to continue getting her to her desired result - this has already been conveyed to the guest on this phone call as well as in our reply to her ****** review and now in our BBB replies. While we regret that the guest is unhappy, we also understand that the salon color contract was signed by the guest, but that the service plan to achieve the desired result was not followed by the guest. With this knowledge, we stand by the decision previously communicated to the guest and wish her the best with her hair goals moving forward.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: the business is unwilling to acknowledge the low-quality work that was done on my virgin hair. Pictures display under-processed virgin hair that the business refuses to acknowledge and bleach spots on my dark hair that they will not take ownership for. The contract regarding my previously dyed ends has no bearing on this poor job that was done and the business was indifferent regarding the condition in which my hair was left.

An additional treatment should not have been needed for my virgin hair, but the business is attempting to place blame me for backing out. In reality, they already charged $250 for my half-lifted hair and were going to charge me $75 more to finish the job. Unfortunately, due to the unprofessional job that was done, I could not trust them to fix the mistakes.

Before leaving them a review and reporting the business here, I did attempt to call them and speak with a manager. That, however, was a fruitless endeavor as the business is truly unwilling to own up to the poor service they performed - the most they could muster was to acknowledge getting bleach on my brown hair was an honest mistake without any willingness to consider reparations.

Again, the contract regarding my previously colored hair has nothing to do with my complaint, so ideally the business would not stop referencing that and instead recognize the sloppy, under-processed hair I was left with, which is likely due to the fact that I was the last appointment of the day and they stylist wanted to go home.

I made an appointment for a massage 9/7 for my ************** Ihloff called at the last minute & canceled my massage. I did not re-book. They did not re-book. They called be just now claiming to have an online booking for me today. I made no such booking & informed them of the same. They stated theyd still charge me for their online error then proceeded to charge me $57.50 for their online error. I hate this because Ive been a loyal customer for ************* but if this charge isnt reversed, Ill never go back.

Unfortunately we did not receive communications regarding this challenge until today (12/4/24). I'm not sure why the previous communications did not come through (possibly caught in a spam filter is my best guess - I would love to figure this out so we do not have delays in receiving communications in the future). We took prompt action as soon as we received this information and researched to find the root of the issue. Here is what we found from 9/3/24:

      - Appointment for Sunday 9/22 was booked online by *****

      - Guest called salon afterwards to ask about additional availability for second ***** to come in with her, per phone call recording said that she had booked on Sunday 9/8 but no appointment was found for that day since it had actually been booked for Sunday 9/22. Host should have caught this and managed appropriately but only looked at the books for Sunday 9/8 and stated that there had not been an online appointment scheduled.

This led to the challenge of the hosts working on Sunday 9/22 thinking that the ***** had no-showed their service that day and charging a cancellation fee.

I called and spoke with the ***** this afternoon after finding this information, apologized for the mistake on our end, and returned the $57.50 fee to her card on file.
