On this past Labor Day Weekend, my wife, son, and I stayed at the Osage Casino and Hotel on the nights of September 2 and 3. We planned on staying the night of the 4th, but had a family emergency at home and had to check out a day early. I was told by the front desk that we had to check out prior to 11:00 in order to not be charged the additional night. That only left us around 40 minutes. I require a prescription medication that has to be refrigerated. Upon arrival and finding out that the rooms did not have refrigerators, I had to store my medication in the ice bucket. In our rush to get out of the room before 11:00, I mistakenly left my medication in the ice bucket. A couple hours Iater I called the hotel to see if they had been found. Surprisingly, housekeeping had found the medication and turned it into security. Since security did not have a refrigerator, they took it to the front desk refrigerator. I discussed with the hotel about shipping, but they said that was not an option. I asked them to please keep the medication until I could find a resolution to get it back. Upon returning to work on Tuesday, September 6, a coworker said she has a friend that lives close to the casino and could bring them to Arkansas in the near future. I called the hotel back and they assured me the the medication would be kept in the refrigerator until it was picked up. They needed the pickup person's name and said he'd need to show ID. He attempted to pick up the medication on the morning of September 22, but was told the medication was gone. I called and talked to many hotel attendants, security, and managers. After many phone calls and an email, I received a call from Sarah Witt, the hotel manager. She told me their policy was to discard of any left possessions after 7 days and refused to acknowledge the arrangement I had made with her staff. She would not let me talk and only kept repeating their policy. When I asked her to stop talking, she said we were "done".
