My experience was unfair. Portal was locked for several months. Had to keep calling to check on claim, knowing they had already denied it! Games that they play there. The denied my claim because my note said bleeding resolved when he did the exam. Meaning no bleeding at the time when he looked inside me. But bleeding would start with activities! Claiming the *** ***** sign a two questions clarification form, but it was nothing to sign. He only had to answer the two questions. They took everything I told my *** that I had concerns about and used that against me! But still answering the questions thoroughly on the clarification form about my surgery. Went three weeks without pay! Glad I had a savings! They can interpret what they want instead of what with what was written. The *** said the Nurse ***** want to read all those notes so they wanted two questions answered, then all of the sudden that the question were in my favor, now you want to read the notes. You couldve done that at first instead of wasting time just to deny! Extremely unfair! A nurse over ruling a *** I guess he went to school longer then he shouldve because I guess he doesnt know what hes doing! Because they ***** believe him according to what was told to me today!

I am filing this formal complaint against New York Life Insurance Company due to the mishandling of my Short-Term Disability (STD) claim. I underwent major chest surgery on December 4, 2024, and I submitted my STD claim a week prior to the procedure. Since then, I have faced continuous negligence and misinformation regarding the status of my claim. After being discharged from the hospital, I followed up with *** regarding my claim. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue, calling at least four times a week, only to receive conflicting information from various representatives. I was initially assigned a claim manager named Thai, whom I was never able to speak with. I was later informed that Thai had left the company, but no proper handoff or communication was provided.Despite repeated requests to speak with a supervisor, no one has been made available. Promises for callback requests were made but never fulfilled. When I contacted *** again, I was told that medical information had been sent to my doctors, which was untrue. It was only after speaking with a representative who communicated clearly that I discovered no such information had been sent. From December 11 to December 25, 2024, my claim was inexplicably approved without any medical documentation. As we entered 2025, I still had not received an update on a new claim. Upon calling again, I was told I had a new claim manager named Rika. I only recently spoke with Rika, who informed me that my claim was denied because my doctor allegedly cleared me to return to work. This is completely false. I have documentation from my doctor stating that I was still in pain as of December 17, 2024, and was medically advised to remain out of work until January 19, 2025. The handling of my claim has been unprofessional, negligent, and unacceptable. If this issue is not resolved immediately, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action to protect my rights.

My elderly father paid on a long term nursing home policy for many years and has been in a nursing home for a while now and NYL will not pay or do anything. They kick the can as long as they can and have everything they have requested and will not pay the claim. I'm sure they're waiting on another 300.00 month payment. Is that not insane he will be making an upcoming 300.00 for long term care and he's in a nursing home with dementia.
