My son was enrolled to begin in the Tulsa Welding Academy in May 2024. He had a scholarship due to the line of duty death of his father that the school assured us they would accept for tuition room and board. After many phone calls and a lot of pressure and predatory behavior from the Tulsa Welding Academy and its associates we paid a deposit and first months rent for an apartment totaling approximately $609 ,that we never took custody of as the scholarship did not cover technical schools. I have reached out on many occasions and received no answer as to why I cannot get this money back or who exactly to speak to in order to get this done. have been locked out of the app folio application that the apartment complex uses. Apartment complex was Sugarberry in Tulsa, ********.

    ******,

Thank you for reaching out.   We are sorry that your son did not start school with us here at Tulsa Welding School.   With regards to the housing deposit, we would like to clarify that this deposit was not paid to Tulsa Welding School but to a 3rd party which facilitates housing for students called EduRent.

We have had detailed discussions with EduRent, the external vendor responsible for facilitating the housing process. I am aware that you have spoken with them on multiple occasions, which highlights your commitment to resolving this issue. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to get in touch directly with **** ******,the director at EduRent, at **************. He is well-equipped to assist you in navigating this situation and ensuring that your concerns are addressed promptly.

    Sincerely,

We enrolled our son in the Electrician program at TWS. He began 1/12/24. They are suppose to be educating him between 7:30am - 12:30pm, law requires minimum 5 hours per day. He only stays for 3 hours. I have contacted multiple people at the school. The President won't return my calls. The financial aid department is suppose to submit his certification to the VA for Chapter 35 Benefits, she has "forgotten" to double check that they were actually submitted. Therefore, causing us to struggle to pay the monthly note they made us sign a contract for, let alone our normal bills. I have emailed them my concerns. I keep getting told they will send it to management, they will fix the problems. Still yet, nothing has been done. They are charging us $24,000+ and the government around $20,000. I don't know how and I surely can't understand why. Our son is not receiving the education they advertised and told us he would get. He goes to school for 3 hours, we pay for 5. He goes to school 3 days a week and we pay for 5. I feel like this is a pyramid scheme. It's not just us that are having issues, there are others.
