I signed up for a 3 month yoga class pass back in April of 2022. I was able to attend 6 classes or so before my work days got extremely busy and I was unable to continue the classes. I forgot that the charge was reoccurring and have been charged $97 on August 6, 2022, and again on November 6, 2022 for a total of $197 for services I did not use. I need help because The Yoga Room did not send out any reminder email or text letting me know when the charges would be levied nor did The Yoga Room send any receipts for the recurring charges. I spoke with the owner Lily? today and she told me she would not refund my money because she's, "trying to run a business." Which says to me her billing tactics are unethical, underhanded and sly. I never received a call to confirm the "membership" even after the second charge for 12 classes in August. The Yoga Room has been charging me without any compunction for classes that I CLEARLY were not using. I'd like a refund for the $197 I've been charged for classes I never used. I no longer want to attend the studio to use any of the classes because the owner's attitude is so off-putting I am uncomfortable going to the business.

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/17) */
The Yoga Room's agreement is to provide our members with great membership options and yoga classes, and we also agree that we will cancel or change their membership when they notify us that they want to make a change or cancel. As soon as this client called on November 10th and let me know she did not want to have a membership, I cancelled her membership. I did not agree to her demands for a refund because, and according to her own statement, she willingly and knowingly signed up for a membership that auto renews every three months. I understand and empathize with this client's frustration as I too get frustrated when I forget/don't have the time to use a service I signed up for, agreed to, and paid money on. To summate, The Yoga Room upheld its agreement to provide great yoga classes and also to cancel the client's account immediately when notified; we're also happy to have her come use the remaining classes on her account despite no longer having an active membership. Thank you.

    Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/11/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the offer because the business owner was rude and hung up on me and did not want to discuss my issues. I do not feel comfortable utilizing the yoga classes. I believe the owner is duplicitous in her business practices as she told me she is trying to run a business which leads me to believe that she unconcerned about my financial or emotional well being. Why would I ever want to set foot in her studio again?
