    We hired ***** Rivers (Rivers Tree Care LLC.) to cut down and remove a walnut tree. He was also supposed to grind the tree ***** to **** inches below the ground surface. We also hired him to rejuvenate and trim approximately 100 feet of Arborvitae trees. On September 24, 2023 ***** Rivers and his crew showed up and cut down the walnut tree. They removed the tree from our property. The cost for tree falling/removal and ***** grinding was $1500. ***** Rivers told us he would come back at a later date to grind the ***** and start on the rejuvenation process of the Arborvitae trees. The cost for the rejuvenation/trimming of the Arborvitae trees was $1500. ***** Rivers talked us into prepaying for the remainder of work we hired him to perform (grinding the tree ***** and Arborvitae tree trim and rejuvenation). We gave him a check for $3000 with the promise of him returning to perform the reminder of tasks. After numerous ignored calls and no shows, ***** Rivers finally showed up on October 21, 2023 to grind the tree *****. He only took the ***** down to just above ground level, leaving a huge ***** mound. He stated he would be back to finish the grinding at another time. We have never heard from him again. It is now November 27, 2023 and after numerous ignored phone calls with messages left, still nothing. I emailed ***** Rivers and stated I was going to file a complaint with BBB and CCB to no avail. I would like $1500 retuned to me for lack of Arborvitae work and the cost to hire someone else to grind the remainder of ***** he left. He is more than welcome to come back and grind the *****, however, I do not trust him to perform the Arborvitae work and would like my $1500 back. He has proven to be untrustworthy and a con man.

    ***** Rivers called and arranged to finish the ***** grinding on December 8. He also stated that he will come back and grind a bit more and add a root killer to the remaining root offshoots. He also stated that he will continue the Arborvitae rejuvenation/trim/shape process in January sometime. I will trust him to his word.
