    My last service date by Albany Water was March 19, 2024. I inquired about my $100 deposit and was told that after the final bill was paid the deposit would be returned in the form of a check. I received the final bill and the full balance was paid on April 8, 2024. I called some weeks later and was told the refund had been sent. I then called a week later stating I had not received it and was told that it was a mistake and was not sent yet. I have been calling regulary all these months and have been given many excuses. There is no dispute that I have the $100 deposit on my account. My most recent call was on June 18th when I was told that they were not sending deposits. This is outrageous and by what justification are they holding on to a senior's money for all these months.

    My husband and I with our three children moved into a new residence. When we arrived to our new home we contacted city of Albany to have our water service switched to our new residence and stop it at our old one. They told us they needed to make a whole new account. They never shut off the service from the previous house and the new tenants there were using the water in our name. When we caught the issue we tried telling them we were not using water at that address they told us we were suppose to close out the old service when we started the new service which we told them to do when we moved. Now 2 years later they transferred that amount to our actual bill making is $700 and gave us a shut off notice.
