This company sells its products through *********** You can find them there. We needed two stock tanks at 2 feet high by 2 feet wide and 6 feet long. We also needed stock tanks that had drains. Behlen had these exact stock tanks at ************ The only issue is they were located in Indiana, so we drove there from ** to pick them up on, July 31st.At *********** the stock tanks all have the same 2x2x6 - 169GAL written on them. We picked up two and loaded them into the back of our Suburban and drove them home to **************. After unloading and getting them prepped for use I noticed there was a difference in the size of the tanks, not that much but noticeable when placed end to end. Took out the tape measure and low and behold, neither tank is 6 ft long and only one of them was actually 2 feet wide. Both are close enough to 2 feet tall. The tank that I now recognized as smaller was only 65 inches long and **** inches wide. The larger of the two tanks is indeed 2 feet wide but only **** inches long. How can you advertise a product as 2'x2'x6' and capable of holding ************************************************************************* capacities? Both of our stock tanks have the exact same sticker and label and neither of them meet that description. I drove collectively 16 hours and almost **** miles in a V8 Suburban to get these stock tanks. They are not returnable or available in my State or nearby states home depots. I called the company and spoke with a manager who took my info and said he would try to get them exchanged at another retailer that was apparently in my state. Has not called back and cannot get in touch with that individual. I would like one of the stock tanks refunded or the smaller tank replaced.

    To Whom it may concern,

Behlen **** *** was made aware of a complaint filed by *************************** regarding two 2x2x6 stock tanks that ************** purchased from a ********** in Indiana. ************** complained that the stock tanks were not exactly two feet by two feet by six feet in dimension. The sizing provided for stock tanks is nominal in nature. Stock tanks are also nested for shipping purposes and each nested stock tank is approximately 2-3 inches smaller than the stock tank it nests inside. This is noted for each Behlen Country stock tank sold by ********** on **********s website under Product Overview. Please see the following ********** webpage for the 2x2x6 stock tank https://www.homedepot.com/p/Behlen-2-ft-x-2-ft-x-6-ft-Stock-Tank-50130048/100319522. For the stock tank size at issue, the stock tanks come in a nest of three so it is typical that the innermost stock tank in the nest would be 4-6 inches smaller by length and width than the largest stock tank in the nest.

************** did reach out to numerous Behlen customer service representatives, including myself, and we tried to explain the above facts, however ************** was verbally abusive to our representatives.  While we do not appreciate having our representatives sworn at, they and I continued to try to resolve the issue by offering to exchange the tanks. While we do not have any local dealers near Mr. ****** location that carry steel stock tanks, we are still willing to replace Mr. ****** smaller tank.

************** also indicated that he was unable to return the tanks to any ********** stores in his area. We reached out to a ********** customer service representative to clarify their return policy. We were told that if ************** had the stock tanks shipped to a specific store, he would need to return them to that store. If he purchased the tanks off the shelf, so long as he had the original receipt, he could have returned the stock tanks for a refund to any ********** location regardless of whether that specific store carried the stock tanks.

    Respectfully,

    ***************************

I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response from **** because I spoke with two individuals when I reached out to Behlen Mfg.. Not numerous (Nice embellishment though) I spoke with one possibly underpaid representative and one supervisor/manager possibly ****. The first representative seemed underpaid and scripted at dealing with calls from folks who have similar complaints about false-advertising and product mislabeling All crimes but albeit, Ill give this company the benefit of the doubt.
**** or whomever the supervisor was in this scenario tried to convince me he could convince another retailer to exchange the stock tanks for me because he agreed my local ********** did not carry them and I could not return them there. We originally had to drive 16 hours in the cost of V8 gasoline to purchase them and you even stated in the complaint response that I had no dealers near me. Ha-ha, funny how that story is changing now here on BBB?I was explicitly told that I would be called back by the supervisor once he confirmed my exchange with another nearby retailer. I never got a call back or email or ANOTHER word from this company.
Your sticker literally reads 2. by 2. by 6 One hundred and sixty-nine gallons. Full Stop. There is absolutely ZERO labels or warnings ON or NEAR the product on display physically at the store, that unequivocally states or warns YOU ARE NOT BUYING WHAT WE LABELED THIS AS! That is a problem of integrity and honesty, and your company knows it. Stating nominal sizing or varies by 2-3 inchesunder the click here for more details of the product page of ********** is not compensatory for deceptively labeling every varied product as 2x2x6 169 gallons.None of them are that or hold that amount.
If I walked into a retail store and saw three drinking glasses all labeled 6x2 inch - 16 ounces. Only to buy them, take them home and one cup is 15 ounces the other is 14 ounces and the third is 12 ounces All are less than 6x2 inches...   Would this not be representative of exactly how your product is labeled and sold, physically in store?
Again, zero warnings here for in person shopping. I must get online and check home depots website to not get lied to, or other customers?? Am I supposed to bring a tape measure with me? How about folks who just see your product at ********** or other retailers and buy it based on the label? Is there fair enough warning there for them to know they are not getting what they paid for on the label?
I would like the smaller tank to be refunded as at this point because I have invested and lost more money than the cost of both tanks combined. Returning the tank to ********** would again require my time and fuel to logistically transport the item, further increasing my losses at this point and leaving me without the second tank I need.  This company knows I cant replace the tank or exchange it easily and are hoping to get off with me just letting it go. This is ridiculous. Your company should be willing to recognize customers who drove hundreds of miles just to specifically purchase your product and give you business.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
