In October 2024, I contracted Book Writing Cube(BWC) to publish my novel FOLLOW YOUR FEELINGS. I signed a contract, paid $3,800 dollars and have emails and receipts verifying the transaction. On November 22, 2024, I received a email from my Project Manager (***** *******) claiming that she was no longer with ***. Other former staff members of *** informed me that there was a business disruption among the partners of *** causing staff members to be laid off. I contacted Book Writing Cube to ascertain the status of the business. I spoke to ***** ********. He assured me that Book Writing Cube was still in business and that he would assign an new Project Manager named ***** Rockford. I received a phone call from *****. He assured me that we would continue with the project uninterrupted. In January 2025, ***** asked if i would dispute my payment of $3,800 dollars with ********** and then redeposited those funds into a :new bank account. I said NO under the advisement of my lawyer. I then received a phone call from ***** **** (Manager of Finance) for ***. He claimed that I owned Book Writing cube $1,500 dollars and unless I paid it, all *** services would be suspended. I then provided documentation to *** that i was paid in full. I asked him to document his claim about the $1,500 I owed. He was unable to do it. .I spoke to him twice on the phone and received two very nasty (threatening ) emails from him. *** claims to be be A+ rated business with BBB but are F rated and are not accredited with BBB. Their website is closed down. I have found many posts claiming they are scammers. In July 2024 I paid The Book Writing Cube $3500 to illustrate my childrens book. Since November, after only a half dozen draft illustrations, they stopped sending me any further drawing for my okay.After repeated calls and emails, their representatives keep telling me that the illustrations are coming but they never came. On November 6, 2023 I signed up with Book Writing Cube after vetting them through BBB. I submitted a payment of $3,099.00 to begin the process. I was assigned a project manager by the name of **** ***** and we began the process. There wasn't a time limit on how long I had to complete the completion of my book. On March 29, ***** I was informed of that it would be great for me to have a website developed by the company along with social media platforms, billboards in time square and other promoting tools. I agreed to their pricing of $7,500. I continue to submit work even up to November 5, 2024 which was received by **** *******, ****** supervisor. However, on November 16, **** ******* informed me via email that the company had been dissolved. I would like to know of the necessary steps that I need to take to recuperate my monies. I contacted my bank and I was informed that it is over the time allotted to make any claims. I have made several attempts to contact the company, to no avail. I engaged Book Writing Cube on January 25, 2024, to provide professional editing services for a book I wrote. Specifically, they promised in writing to provide, among other elements of their service, 1) ********************************* 2) ************************** and 3) ******************************* I got none of that. I never received these services. When I engaged Book Writing Cube, I was told the service would be provided by mid-February. The project managers first communication after being assigned to my project was to say that the deadline was unrealistic and that it would take until February 29, 2024. In his communications, he reiterated several times that he would meet the February 29, 2024, due date. He missed that extended due date. On March 4, 2024, he communicated to me, I acknowledge your frustration.I began asking to talk with a supervisor before the February due date, and in March, I was finally given the contact information for *************************. I wrote him the attached March 21, 2024 letter. He never responded. I thought this was resolved until I received your communication on April 9, 2024. The client has already filed for a dispute with their bank and we have submitted all the necessary details to the authorities, to which the client was not happy as we proved all the work that was done. The client reopened a case to review the dispute/chargeback again, to which we have resubmitted all the necessary details and documents. At this point, we clearly can see that the client is just trying to blackmail us using the prestigious name of BBB to pressurize us and this is clearly a shakedown that after receiving all the services the client wants a refund.
The direct response to the client's message on BBB:
Moreover, when you initially signed up with our company, we provided you with a tentative date for completion. However, after analyzing and fully understanding your project requirements, we explained everything to you and committed to a specific deadline of February 29th, 2024. Despite repeatedly asking about the deadline, we assured you to wait until the specified date. As promised, we delivered the final file and book cover to you within the agreed-upon deadline. We asked for your feedback on the file and offered to make any necessary changes before moving forward with the publishing process. However, instead of providing feedback, you accused us of not completing the editing, despite our records showing otherwise. When I attempted to reach out to you to discuss and resolve the issue, you did not respond and chose to file a dispute. We fulfilled all of our promises and were prepared to make further revisions, but you only demanded a refund after receiving the completed work.

Although we have responded before, but here is our response again. And, since the client has already lost the dispute filed with the bank.
Response:When ********************* initially joined Book Writing Cube, ********************* was provided with a tentative completion date. After thoroughly analyzing ************************* project and understanding ************************* requirements, the team assigned a specific deadline of the end of February 2024. Upon receiving this timeline, ********************* repeatedly inquired about the completion date, to which the team consistently responded positively and accurately.
The files, including the book cover, were delivered to ********************* on February 29th, 2024. However, ********************* did not review them promptly and subsequently lodged a dispute without first discussing the project with the team. The team requested that ********************* join a call to discuss any further changes needed in the editing, so they could address them accordingly. Despite their efforts to communicate, ********************* refused to engage in a discussion and ignored all calls and messages. Even though ********************* had signed a non-refundable contract, ********************* chose to file a dispute without any prior discussion.
Ultimately, when the team provided all relevant details to the appropriate department, the resolution was in their favor because ********************* did not attempt to discuss or correct the issues. Throughout this process, the team adhered to their customer service ethics and offered to resolve the situation by working on the necessary edits. The date April 28 2023.time 10:37:44am. reciept number 1057-6973. This provided me nothing never used the services in any way. I emailed and called around 10 times to receive a full refund that I was told I would recieve if services were not rendered and they were not rendered or received. I was working with another company and when i discussed this woth ************ was told if i didnt use there company i would have a full refund. The other company finished my book and published it, when i called ***** she said no i can not have a refund, i was startled i have emailed for a refund spoke to the manager **** and tryed to ask for another top manager and they refuse. I replyed to them all i never used your services in any way. Please refund my $3500.00. Atvthis point i would not like to deal with there company to do anything with my books. This issue involves the Book Writing Cube. All I want is the refund the *** committed to providing. I received an email stating the *** had committed to providing the refund and it would be processed on a specific date. 1. On 16 August 2023, signed contract for book publishing.2. On 17 Aug, the assigned project manager failed to show up at our first meeting; no notification.3. Spoke with *** (******) that day to terminate agreement.4. *** convinced me to try another project manager.5. She stated if things didn't work out she would provide full refund.6. After 5 weeks of little or no progress, I asked to cancel the contract and for a refund.7. When company first called me, he (******) stated entire process should not exceed 5 weeks.8. Hello,
I am writing this response for the complaint by ***********************************. The problem started where he signed a non-refundable contract as already shared by the client themselves, and he has signed the contract (just to clarify, no one enforced the contract on the client, they signed it after reviewing it). Even after which our management decided that we can go ahead and violate our own policies just so we can give the client a good customer experience. After which the client started defamation, and posting negative comments (I am attaching the screenshot of their comment/review on ******** Please guide us how are we supposed to run our business if every single person is going to violate the sanctity of a legal contract signed between two parties and blackmail with defamation and complaining on Trust and prestigious review portals such as ****** or BBB.
On which we requested that we are still willing to help you with this and provide a refund. And, the next day we see that the client has posted a complaint here as well.

I fully explained what happened in my complaint. I stand by what I wrote. The Book Writing Cube alleges defamation. All information I provided is FACT. There were no false statements, negligence, or other damages, or some harm caused to the reputation of the person or entity who is the subject. Any harm to Book Writing Cubes reputation was self-inflicted. Truth is not defamation.
1. I fully understand the contract was a legally binding agreement.
2. Before the contract was executed, I requested cancelation directly to the ***.
3. The *** verbally guaranteed refund would be provided if I were not satisfied with new project manager.
4. After continued non-performance, I again requested termination and refund.
5. *** committed to providing refund minus $500 (this was confirmed in an email to me from company).
6. After no refund was received after one week, called Finance person.
7. This person stated no refund would be provided unless I removed rating. I refused.
8. Later that same day (11 Oct 23), I sent email to company stating if refund were made to me as requested, I would remove rating. No response has been received.
9. Attempted to call ***, but she would never accept my call.
10. All communications went silent from company.
Attached is a copy of the email I sent and the email I received confirming refund would be processed.
BOTTOM LINE: REFUND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY PROMISED BY *** AND I WILL REMOVE RATING.

This company had terrible customer service and did not honor their contract. they didn't provide any of the services they were contracted to provide. Their refund policy states, "You may claim a full refund of your amount before we start working on your project. However, once the work has begun on the project, we will only keep the percentage for the work approved by you and a prorated refund will be processed." I never approved any work they did, which was only one illustration. Therefore, I was *********** a full refund, however, I was willing to compromise and accept a partial refund, but they were unwilling to issue any refund at all. Additionally, the customer service is terrible, they rarely returned my phone calls, and after purchasing one of their packages, which included publishing on ************, one of their salesmen contacted me and tried to get me to pay an additional $2,500 specifically for ************ claiming that you need to pay a separate fee for some of the other ****************** services, which was not true. When I refused he kept lowering the price, for something I had already purchased. I also found out when I tried to serve them, that they are not located at the ****** address listed on their website and contract and the ******** address is only a registered agent with no office space.Business Response

As stated previously, the client themselves said in a written email that "a refund of $2,000 is sufficient" and then he keeps on changing his statement every 5 minutes. First was, refund ****, then refund **** and make a website for me, then it was ****, even during this discussion he started defaming our reputation by complaining here and posting defaming and negative reviews on different portals.

Book Writing Cube and I have been discussing this issue and have agreed to a $2,000 refund. The company has been very professional and gracious during our recent interactions. I have attached the agreement that they sent me. In the agreement, Book Writing Cube has requested that I remove all of my comments from the various websites to which I have posted them. i am currently in the process of doing that. I will then sign the agreement and they are then supposed to sent me a $2,000 refund. December 22, 2022- signed agreement for Book Republishing and Marketing (6 Months Plan) - $6,400 (pd) see Agreement attachement for detailed services paid for So far, this company has ONLY republished my book on amazon which is not finalized, and is still re-doing one website, and fixing one book trailer- thats it in four months plus.Second payment of $6,400 on February 10, still has not been detailed. The company management does not respond forcing employees who do not have the whole picture, to communicate me. So far, they have responded but not to the problem; matter of fact, I just received an email with a request for a call from one of their employees. I can proof that they have not delivered what they claimed to have done within the five months since signing the contract. Their delays and unprofessional work ethic are costing me time and money.

I revoked my complaint to the ******* AG on May 2 in good faith, because BWC *** *********************** said to me he had received a deadline from the *** he did not want to have to meet it.
I did not revoke the BBB complaint as clearly stated.
Since too many points are still in pending, not finished and to a big part not even attempted, I object strongly to their notion of having resolved the issue.
My business is suffering due their deliberate delays over six months and ongoing.

You might remember that ****************************** had a complaint before, but later she seemed happier with our work and said she wants to keep going with the project. Despite her initial request to cease the work, we chose to continue working on her project and diligently completed the remaining tasks based on her instructions. We finished the remaining work just the way she told us. We want to make it clear that we're really committed to making sure the project turns out the way she wants it, even if the contract time is over.
To make sure we finish on time, we're working faster and utilizing more teams on the project. Our main goal is to do even better than what ****************************** expects and give her exactly what she has in mind. If there's anything specific you think we should know please let us know. We want to fix anything that's not right as soon as possible to make sure everything goes well.

He refuses to address the problems he has created.I have decided to discontinue working with this company because of its false advertising claims (see attachment), its unprofessional work ethics with delays that hurt my company, and its non-responsive habits of actions. As stated in the previous emails, the client went to you initially and blackmailed/harassed ** to expedite the work. After this she went to the Attorney General of *******, to which we very professionally responded to the complaint and continued working for her, after a while she withdrew her complaint from the ** of ******* (screenshots attached in the previous emails). Then after a couple of weeks of reverting her complaint, she filed another complaint with the ** which clearly indicated to "cease and desist" all works, but on the other hand, she was constantly forcing us to do the work, and, we did that. We continued working for her and we made a response and sent it to the ** to which we still haven't received any response.
All work has been done and delivered. All services rendered. For the last time, we are clarifying that after completing the job we cannot provide any refund to the client. If you need I can share all the necessary documents and screenshots again. But, please I am very humbly requesting you to help us get this case closed without having to hurt our relationship with the BBB and our online/digital reputation.

Hello,
The last response from the *** is showing exactly the attitude of the men working there by claiming to have been "initially and blackmailed/harassed us to expedite the work" is an insult and is a blatant falsehood. The one who wrote that letter is the one who promised all kinds of quality service before they received the payments, for example the book re-publishing will take no longer than a week- it took four months. Besides those points, I am tired of fighting, in my opinion, a dishonest company. This is my last response and whatever the BBB decides to do, so be it.
