I had given this business all my Tax Information prior To March 14. 2025. Follow-up Call made April 2025 in regards to obtaining my taxes. " She Filed an Extension on your taxes." I did not authorize an extension. I have made numerous calls with messages in regards to my taxes and concerns that they are not responding. My concern is now that this company has all my information and shut their business down. What actions do I take now.?Thank you so much for your help....**** *******

    Business Response

    ****,

I apologize for any confusion. We are still in business as was stated on our answering service.  After tax day, our regular office hours are Monday - Thursday from 9 - 4.  You called on Thursday last week while we were in a class that was schedule weeks in advance.  I did leave a message today.  I will be the only one in the office tomorrow so if you call and get the answering message, I am with a client or on another call.  I am a little surprised that if you thought our business had closed, you did not stop by the office to see for yourself.

Our cut-off for tax returns to be done without an extension is typically 3/15 each year.  It does state in the engagement letter that you signed, we do returns on first income first out as much as possible.  It also states the even though you may come in by that deadline, an extension may be necessary depending on the number of tax returns in before you as we can usually finish approximately 350 returns by April 15th in a normal season.  We did receive your tax info on March 14th and you were 363 in line.  This year was an extraordinarily busy year as we missed 7 days of work in March due to the death of my mother. We have been continuing to finish the returns as they came in.  Yours was completed yesterday and is ready to be processed.
