    Called for a new service in **************. I was previously a Bend Broadband customer in 2018 before they were purchased by ***. When I submitted a request for service at a home I recently purchased I was call by *** to confirm some details. They asked me about an unresolved $19 charge on my Bend Broadband account from 2018. I said I closed the account in person and I never received any further billing and the charge never went to collections, but if they send me the invoice I'd be happy to settle it if the charge was legitimate. The representative then listed three more address in ****** a town in which I have never lived because a person with a name similar to mine had unresolved charges. When I informed her that I had never lived at those addresses I was asked if I could provide proof of my residence at various times to confirm I was not the owner on those accounts. At that time I cancelled the request. I feel the charge of $19 was inaccurate but an understandable situation. But to then try to pin the bad debts of random accounts on a returning customer was extremely unprofessional. Why would they not send that customer to collections? And why am I only hearing of an unresolved charge on my account after 8 years? Everything about the interaction seemed unprofessional and illegitimate.
