On August 27th I went in for a pedicure. I told her I sometimes get ingrown toenails and "to please gently lift the sides". She ends up cutting the side of my nail all the way down to the bed. This hurt immensely, I've never had someone do that before, and I told her it hurt. She told me she had to keep going and I toughed it out. The next morning, I woke up to it red and swollen. It hurt too much to run, and I called the establishment to ask about a cream or numbing solution because I really needed to be able to move. The manager/owner told me they weren't supposed to cut all the way down the sides of the nail because they weren't doctors, but the best he could do was offer me a gift card. I told him I didn't want to come back. He asked me to come in, I did, he looked at the toe and touched it, which hurt and I pulled back. He said, again, they weren't supposed to cut all the way down "but she was trying to help me". I said I asked only for her to gently lift the sides. He ended up arguing with me when I said I didn't want a gift card. He said the toes were "beautiful" and he couldn't give me a refund. I said fine, but there's a health code violation here then and to do something about that. I also showed him the paint job wasn't what I had actually wanted, and he offered to paint them correctly (which was impossible because she cut them wrong), but I didn't want to expose my toe to potentially getting infected since clearly something was wrong. I asked him what I was supposed to do with a gift card because I wasn't comfortable coming back, and he said "I don't know, that's your problem".

I would like the business to be investigated for performing medical procedures without proper licensure, if possible. And, a refund in the full amount of $68.
