E2 Solar recently upgraded our residential solar system from a system they had previously installed. This specific install was extremely problematic from the start (changed install date with no notice, cut internet lines during install, failed city inspections), but they main issue we have is that they did not finish the job that we paid for. They left multiple large holes in the drywall of our garage and refused to fix them despite the fact that they cut these holes themselves as either part of the previous install or part of this install. When we complained about this, E2 Solar told us the job was finished, they don't fix drywall (despite cutting into the walls), and then threatened to send us to collections if we didn't pay in full without having the drywall fixed. Additionally, excessively long screws were used to install the solar system on our roof, so that now there are several inches of sharp s**** ends protruding from the roof into our attic space causing a significant safety hazard. When we complained about this, they stated the project was finished, cutting the screws off was not in their "scope of work", and again threatened us with a delinquent account if we didn't pay in full without these repairs being done. Some of our personal belongings had been carelessly tossed about during the install and not returned to their proper location after the project was completed. When we complained about this, they told us it was our responsibility to move personal items out of their work space, despite the fact they never told us we needed to move anything around so they could work. Finally, they left our property a mess after the project was completed. We have been picking up nails, screws, and pieces of metal from our lawn, driveway, garage, and attic space for the last few weeks. This is a safety issue for ourselves, our animals, and our vehicles. Due to the threats from the company, we paid in full despite in our opinion the project not being completed

    Business Response

    Date: 11/28/2022

E2 Solar is disappointed to hear that our customer is unhappy with the scope of our work. We are an electrical contractor, not a painting and/or sheetrock repair company. However, we do our best to minimize to that type of repair work, but occasionally it is needed. Additionally, screws from attachments protruding thru a roof into an attic is typical and not something that is normally of concern. Our contracts spell out our scope of work and obligations. The customer was provided, and signed a contract for our work. As a side note, the customer was not happy with our schedule (which has continued to be delayed for various reasons) so we provided a discount for lost energy production. It was not required, as our contracted install date was "tentative" and not guaranteed. We have always made quality and integrity integral to our business, and to make customers a priority. We fulfilled our contractual obligations, while even trying to go above, but there are some aspects of work beyond our scope.
