On 03/31/2022, I made a deposit of $2000 to RJ Moving and Hauling to secure moving services on 06/15/2022. We verbally agreed upon a total cost of $8,125 for the move and I was given an invoice that reflected $6,200.00 for moving labor, $2,925 for moving truck/equipment costs, and $1000.00 for fuel. On 05/13/2022, RJ Moving and Hauling charged me $3,199 for the truck and equipment ($274 more than I had been originally billed for) with the expectation that the additional funds would go to our total ****. This brings the total I had paid toward the final **** to $5,199. On 06/14/2022, RJ Moving and Hauling called us and told us they would be adding additional charges, including higher fuel costs and travel expenses - which we had been told were included in the original moving labor cost. We tried to work out a comprise with the additional costs and came to a verbal agreement, to which he said he would draw up a new invoice and send it over. When he sent the invoice over, it did not match what we had discussed at all. We called again and were given new numbers again, verbally agreed, and then a new invoice was sent over. Again, this invoice did not match. On 06/15/2022, we called RJ Moving and Hauling again to complain about the invoice, to which he said he would fix, and send us over a formal contract (which we requested). Again, the contract did not match what we had discussed over the phone and prices were increased again. Additionally, RJ Moving and Hauling had claimed to have put the moving vehicle, but it was revealed later on that they had put it in someone else's name. At this point, we decided to cancel our services. RJ Moving and Hauling agreed to a refund over the phone and asked us to wait **** days for it to be processed. We have waited for the refund and it has not arrived. I have attached as many documents as I can, but the invoices and "contracts" were edited/overwritten in Square so it is difficult to track the changes.
