      I spent nearly $400 with this company, only to receive diseased stock infected with crown gall, a serious and highly contagious bacterial disease.From the beginning, it was clear this company had no concern for plant health or the impact their infected stock has on customers' gardens. When I contacted them, they initially claimed that their policy included replacements for diseased items, but that was a blatant lie admitted by *******, a supervisor at Swan Island. Instead of doing the right thing, they've held onto my money only to drag the process out and eventually send replacement tubers the following year that were also infected with crown gall. After seeing the photos of the crown gall from the replacement order, they finally agreed to issue a refund, but only if I returned the original order, despite the fact that it was clearly unusable. When I asked if they would cover the return shipping cost for sending back their diseased, worthless product, I was told no. So not only am I out a full season, I'm also expected to pay even more out of pocket just to be refunded what never should've been sent to me in the first place. If you value your garden, your time, and your money, do not trust this company. Their disregard for plant health, misleading policies, blatant lies, and lack of accountability is unacceptable and quite frankly, shameful.They clearly don't know about virus as much of their stock is infected. This could be due to their planting and harvesting methods, their lack of tool sanitation, or a number of other irresponsible practices.None of their practices, so proudly displayed on social media are in line with the virus and disease prevention guidelines recommended by the *** as well as pathologists who specialize in ****** virus/ disease.Swan Island claims to have exceptional customer service. I've yet to experience that, unless the experience above is their version of exceptional.
