They told me spouse our vehicle was no longer drivable and that we could scrap it for 100$ else where or 2x that with them for parts. The workers are then driving our vehicle the next week. They refused a bill of sale from her knowing she wasn't the only person on the title. I did not sell them my 2018 ******. Its still new.. Now they're claiming to have done work on our other vehicle, and I believe that since they scammed my spouse out of the car, they might've tampered with her truck to get her to sell it for next to nothing or (scrap it with them for a little. extra) the work (allegedly done) is not showing that it is completed. We were told that power steering and brakes were done because they're tied together. Almost wrecked and truck is now sitting because the brakes are locking and pulling the wheel. Power steering worked for a couple weeks but is already failing. I truly think the truck is rigged to break down and have them "scrap it". My 2018 ****** which just needed an oil change and major interior clean(someone stole it, over heated it and thrashed the seats inside) is now being driven around by one of the employees days later.. I did not sell my car, they bamboozled my spouse out of it bc the interior looked thrashed. This should be illegal right? Spouse couldn't even get title because I wouldnt sign it over so how is it they can transfer title? They stole one car and rigged another to fail. How do I go about this?

    Good Evening,

We take these allegations very seriously at Oregon Caves Chevron. We have been in business 38 years and have had possibly one previous interaction with your organization approximately 35 years ago.

There are two items to address here:

    1. The 2018 ****** Impreza was brought into our repair center with a 100% seized engine, (completely locked up very possibly due to complete loss of coolant, probably when being driven.)  Customer was going to "junk" the vehicle at the local scrap yard where they pay approximately $100 for vehicles in this condition. The customer willingly sold us the vehicle for $300. When the customer was paid and signed over the title to us, we considered it a completed sale. This vehicle now is being driven with a completely replaced engine, windshield, side window, radiator and air conditioner condenser, hoses, door sealing gaskets, and we also gutted and sterilized the seats and interior to remove massive amounts of mold and detailed to make it possible to enter.

    2.  The 2006 GMC Yukon XL was towed into our business on a Sunday evening a few weeks ago because of a crash they were involved in near ************ on a very rainy evening. Customer stated their vehicle was "cut off by another vehicle so they had to swerve." We had done work on the power steering for this vehicle in December, 2024. Customer thought the brakes failed. We inspected the entire brake system in our repair center and found no leaks or unusual conditions. As per vehicle owner's request, we then test drove the vehicle safely to the local body shop. We did not charge the customer for any towing, storage, or inspection because the customer was very upset with us. We have tried to contact her about her complaint towards our business FOUR times. As far as we know, she has not called back.

I am rejecting this response because: the plastic I had used to cover the broken window was removed ,while it was raining , soaking the entire interior. So I then bought a tarp and tied it into the truck, yet again it was removed before it had been taken to body shop unannounced, after being told several times that the vehicle would not leave Chevron until I had paid the astronomical $500 fee for towing and storage . Until I mentioned filing a complaint ,then magically all the fees are waived and the truck shows up at the body shop. (Which I do appreciate that, just seems weird to me )

    Sincerely,

    Good evening,

We are sorry that this is not resolved already. In our opinion, when we delivered the customer's vehicle to the body shop and did not charge her any fees for towing, storage, or thorough vehicle inspection, we assumed ***** would feel like the matter was resolved. There is a possibility that the tarp or window plastic blew away or fell into the vehicle from the weather we have been having. We were unaware of the water issue. We tried calling her three times since her truck was towed in but have been unable to talk to her. We would love for her to arrange a time to come to our business and have a discussion. We have been at our business full time for nearly 40 years and strive for great customer service. This is a very unusual situation. It is a small town and we don't want any dissatisfied customers.

    Thank you,

    **** ******
