I own a business and have 2 dump trucks, one in which the engine failed on us while at a jobsite- so I then do some research on good diesel shops to take it to for diagnosis, I then find Sunnyside Automotive, I tow my F350 to them and have them tell me I need an engine because the other had ceased. I then buy one from B&R auto wrecking, transport it to them, and wait another 3 weeks. I call them to ask if its finished and they tell me to come pick up, I try to but only make it not even a block away, dies again and wont turn back on. I call the owner and he comes to check it out and says its a cam shaft sensor, and I use my other truck to tow it back, buy the sensor he suggested was the problem and leave it with him again for a few days, he calls me says its done again, I come and this time it dies a few blocks from the previous place it died (so a bit more down the street than the first time) he takes it back again, I get another sensor that he once again suggested, and couple days go by and I call him asking if its finished, (mind you this is now 5 weeks into it even going there) he says yes, we come to pick up, I paid him $2.5k in cash (my bank statements reflect that) and leave for the final time. I make it down the road further than the first 2 attempts, and again it dies. I had to pay to tow it home, so I decide to drop it off to **** themselves and waste the little bit of money I have left and have them diagnose WHY it keeps dying. Their findings found the engine had 3 cylinders that were bad, on top of fuel filter housing & lines not being tightened, leaking oil from multiple places, 3 injectors not working- so even if B&R sold me a decent engine- it would have still drove horribly because of the things that werent tightened/done right. I then ask for a reciept from Sunnyside Automotive for B&R to replace engine, owner writes me a estimate for $500 less than what I actually paid, and says he needs to investigate further. I once again have bank stmts

    **** owner of Sunnyside automotive

customer was quoted 2000 dollars to install a used engine with no warranty from us  . There was no warranty because this was not our engine and we made zero profits off this engine . We installed the engine properly how ever as the customer states in his complaint the engine he got is bad . We offered to further diagnose/repair the engine the customer declined for a fee . He basically wanted us to work for free and he wanted us to tell the wrecking yard the engine was bad  we never got to diagnose . Customer could have bought a labor warranty from wrecking yard that would have covered him but he declined the labor warranty .

we spent a lot of extra un paid time transferring parts that are not ours because the engine bought was made for California emissions. Again we made no money . Customer asked us to speak with wrecking yard and we did .

bottom line is we lost money on this and if any used parts we transferred are leaking they are used and not ours.
We agreed to install engine we did not agree to transfer parts asking us to warranty used parts is not going to happen . And he states clearly the engine he was sold by wrecking yard was bad . So if the engines bad that has nothing to do with us .
we wish this customer well however there is no shops in the country that would give him a refund on his own bad engine he bought and decline warranty on . Again not our engine not our warranty . We have done all we can .
