      ****** Huston, of Huston Tax & Accounting, is personable and knowledgeable in a face-to-face meeting. As a new client, I appreciated learning from her. Our first meeting was in October of 2021. We agreed that she would amend my 2019 taxes and file my 2021 taxes. Unfortunately, after that she became almost non-communicative. Neither she nor her receptionist consistently respond to phone calls or emails, regardless of which email address a client uses. After leaving my file folders with her and uploading the documents into her portal as she asked, and after repeated emails and phone calls, I was able to set up a second meeting in March. I had the same positive impression of her in person. However, when I reached out to her in April inquiring about filing my 2021 taxes before the deadline, she responded that she would file an extension and she would do my 2019 amendment shortly after April 17th. She did not. I wrote again to her in July asking that she be honest with me about whether or not she actually had time for me, as a new client, because we had started this process in October. Her receptionist asked for me to upload more information for 2019 into their portal. In early August, after no communication with clarifying questions, ****** had her receptionist call me in to sign both my 2019 Amendment and my 2021 taxes. ****** was not there to review my tax forms before I signed. Important to note is that ****** takes no notes and doesn't have a computer with the tax forms during meetings. I wrote several emails to her and her receptionist asking questions about my return, based on my own notes from our meetings. With no reply, I reached out to an enrolled agent, who confirmed that she made one large mistake and several small mistakes and that he will file an amendment to my 2021 taxes. I will get back the $17,000 I paid. I can't decide whether ****** Huston is overwhelmed or inept. Either way, the results are the same -- her service and accuracy are disappointing.
