I have a home warranty with Choice Home Warranty. My heat pump started making noise and tripped the breaker. I filed a claim #*********.They contacted one of there service providers. On 3-15-24 Cedar Creak Heating and Cooling sent out a service person for inspection. He inspected the heat pump and said the compressor is shorted to ground. That is what my paper works says. He reported to Choice home warranty that my heat and cooling ducting is to small for the heat pump and that is why my compressor failed. But at no time did he inspect the ducting, or state that on my paper work. He did state that Cedar Creak will not install parts that the insurance company supplies because of poor quality. I asked then why is he even out hear? I have had my heating and cooling systems inspected several times over the last 10 years and at no time has anyone said that the ducting is to small. The heat pump is over 20 years old and if the ducting is to small I think there would have been a problem several years ago. I would like them to reconnect with the warranty company and tell them that the ducting is ok and return my $75.00. I have called them several times both the company and service person and no one has retruned my calls.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/03/2024

We've spoken with the homeowner immediately in regards to his complaint.   It is directed to his home warranty company, Choice Home Warranty, and their decision to deny his claim. The service call fee we are required to collect would need to be disputed with Choice Home Warranty not us as this is their charge we are required to collect.   The owner, *****, has spoken to *** and went back out to his home to re-evaluate the system free of charge.  *** has said he will retract this complaint as it was directed to us instead of his home warranty company.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/13/2024

After receiving this complaint the owner reached out to *** and provided a re-diagnosis of the original service findings and completed necessary repair to satisfy customer. We also contacted and updated their contract holder, Choice Home Warranty on this matter.   Homeowner stated he would retrieve complaint as he felt that we responded and completed this to his satisfaction
