Starting in **** I've had several email accounts and websites (username: ************* ********************************* with non-profit ****** Free Network (EFN) which merged with non-profit ****** Public Network(OPN).At some point, with zero communication from ************************** my low-income accounts for free were sold to Peak Internet, a for profit business. Without any communication my accounts were turned into accounts that are charging me fees, which is illegal under ****** state law: ORS 65.147(2) A member of a public benefit corporation or religious corporation may not transfer for value a membership or any right arising from a membership...Not only has Peak Internet periodically shut off access to my accounts until I remind them that they are breaking the law, but they also took down and destroyed the data of all 3 of my websites as well as all data at ******************************** My last remaining account ************* has had all sent mail of 20 years destroyed/truncated. These actions have caused irreperable harm to my historic archive work for non-profit organizations of **************** area and beyond.Despite making my last remaining email account nearly useless, PEAK is now trying to bill me for forwarding email, which is not even an account service they sell, but the bills and late fees are now piling up. This is just the start of my complaints. I will be forwarding my information to ****** state's Attorney General for review to decide if they need to take action against ****'s illegal and fraudulent activities. I will not pay Peak any money ever because they are knowingly profiting off of a non-profit organization free membership by charging unjust fees, which is illegal. Because they have repeatedly refused to realize the seriousness of this situation it's now time they find out what happens when people unlawfully exploit poor people who can't afford a monthly fee, which is the reason I signed up for the accounts in the first place.
