      On 06/12/2020 an *********************** received a bone marrow aspirate clot , and provided cytoflow interpretation. Service referred by temporary out-of-state locum provider *************************************************. I have since learned bone marrow aspiration was a blood tap.and clot section over represented mature blood cell types, and was not suitable for diagnostic purposes. Said clot section was composed of oxidized blood. The only tissue sample ************* received was this clot section. She received no ***,blood smear, or aspirate smears. Lab intake documents confirm this was the only sample she received. Because she did not corolate with the peripheral blood via *** or peripheral blood film her interpretation of bone marrow was quite limited. There were no aspirate smears, she used the inappropriate clot section to fill out the aspirate smear section of the pathology report-also she received no bone marrow core samples. She solely relied on this clot section,which underrepresented the bone marrow to fill out her bone marrow exam pathology report. This is the context in which she interpreted the cytoflow. (cytoflow was performed by a different lab in ********). Her interpretation of the cytoflow test was greatly impared by her lack of information, and the lack of communication between departments. She simply lacked enough information to correctly evaluate, and make a correct diagnosis. I had concerns about this and worked with patient advocates. Because if the incomplete nature of this pathology report, I was told back in 2020 that they could not charge anything for the test. Now all of a sudden-two years later-valley pathology is trying to charge for these useless services. Out of the blue. This has already caused a serious delay in diagnosis. Now they are trying to charge for a useless test they were not supposed to charge for, and in an untimely manner to boot.
