This business is actually charging students for same repairs of previous residents. I also think they are using some type of cheap paint on walls that streak when you clean walls and they charge students for repainting.Initial Complaint

My son moved in **** domain of Corvallis apartments on September 17, 2023 with three other roommates. On his move in day there were several damages to the apartment including his room, room D. There were two carpet areas where the carpet was missing. One area by the bedroom door and one area by the bathroom door. We took pictures of these areas along with several other pictures of damages throughout the apartment. We send the pictures to the email that was provided for Yugo domain as proof my son and his roommates did not do these damages. Yugo domain never responded to the email. Going forward, on August 31, 2024 at noon was the move out date for my son and his roommates. A couple of days later we get notified that we owe $384.45 in damages. Each roommate has a fee they have to pay for damages they did not do. Part of the damages Yugo is claiming my son did was the two missing carpet areas that we took pictures of on September 17, 2023 that was done from a previous tenant that Yugo never fixed. This company is fraudulent. They are charging people for damages they never did and instead of fixing the damages they charge the next tenant of the same damages on their move out date. There are other charges Yugo is claiming my son and his roommates did but, they never did. We have several pictures for proof. The parents including myself have called and left messages for Yugo Domain staff to call us back and they are ignoring us. We all have emailed them providing the pictures we took last September as proof and they are refusing to to get back to us. I have excellent credit. I have never been late on anything and for a company to do this to students and their parents is outrageous. They should not be allowed to get away with this. We should not have to pay for damages our kids did not do. I dont want my credit to get affected because of Yugo Domains negligence. Please help. Thank you!Initial Complaint

My son ******************** rented an apartment at The Domain with two other people. Upon move out my son cleaned his room among other areas of the apartment and took pictures as well . He caused no damage while living there. The management at the domain proceeded to try and collect money from each person that had lived there. They asked for over $1000 but when you went on the account of the apartment, they were asking $1000 from each person. So we ,because we were cosigners on the apartment asked for pictures of the damages that had occurred. After some time they provided some pictures. Two of the pictures were from his roommates cat that caused damage. The other damages were very minor. You cant even call them damages so we asked for specifics and the cost of repairing these. Damages . We sent multiple emails and never heard back until we received a collection notice in the mail last week. This apartment complex runs a very shady business as you can look on their reviews online as well as reviews on BBB site . This complex should be ashamed of themselves when theres college kids that are struggling that are living there, and they take advantage of the kids and their parents. We definitely have pictures of the apartment upon my son moving out and never received clarity from the management. They also received pictures as well . There was definitely not $1000 worth of damages especially not $3000. This collection notice should to be removed by The Domain .Initial Complaint

The management was in clear violation of the terms they put for the lease. Management never went through the process of evicting my roommate who broke multiple aspects of her lease. Management was unresponsive to me as a tenant and never answered emails I sent. Management also failed to provide timely itemized receipt for move out charges. Managment failed to ensure my safety in the apartment. I am wanting managment to either void my cleaning fee charges as I left the apartment spotless and sent them documentation of it. I also had a squater in my apartment and managment failed to handle that incident properly.Initial Complaint

I took over a lease from a girl living in this apartment complex. When taking over the lease I was told that her security deposit would not be refunded to her and would be used for damages at the end of my lease. So it would be kept and rolled over to my lease meaning I wouldnt need to pay a security deposit. She agreed to forfeit that and signed the lease over to me. I have now moved out and received my charges statements from Corvallis domain and in that statement, they did not use my security deposit against it as they said they would. Instead they kept her security deposit and are trying to charge me out of pocket for all damages instead of applying her security deposit which would have covered them all as it was 500 dollars.Initial Complaint

I needed a short-term rental. Yugo Corvallis Domain was contacted to locate a sublease. After 2 misplacements in units, they located me a unit that was vacant. I signed the sublease for *********** for May 18, 2022 to Aug 31, 2022. I moved in on May 19,2022 and my unit was not cleaned. I cleaned it. After moving out on Aug 31, 2022, the Domain placed a cleaning/damage bill on my resident portal on Sept 19, 2022. On Sept 20, 2022, I sent an email along with over 50 move-out pictures attached to the email to management disputing the charges and requesting that they remove the charges. I called on several occasions and also sent a follow-up email asking management to verify receipt of my emails. Each time I called, no manager was available, and I was told that someone would get back with me the next week and the next week and the next week. After several attempts to contact managers and receiving no response, on Oct 4, 2022, I received a collection notice stating I had 10 days to pay the charges or Ill be sent to collections. I called the office and was told that ****** was the person I needed to speak to about this matter. However, I was finally told ****** cannot discuss this matter on the telephone, and a response email would be sent to me that same day (Oct 4, 2022). I checked my portal on Oct 4 and there were no changes. On Oct 5, 2022, I checked my portal and charges had been reduced from $398.33 to $246.67 for the cleaning of the apartment for new tenant, although I received a dirty apartment. Nowhere in my lease does it state that I would be charged for the cleaning/sanitizing for the next resident. I still have not received a response email. They have inconsistent practices. I know someone else who got a timely explanation email and a better response. I believe this is a violation of my lease, and I would like for these charges to be removed with no adverse effect on my credit report. We as young adults are being threatened with credit damage.Initial Complaint

My lease with the domain at Corvallis recently ended on august 31st. However on September 19th charges in the amount of $400 were put on my account. The reasoning for the charges were false and should not have been applied. The company is under the impression that I left the apartment unsanitary and with minor damages. Which is not the case. I cleaned before I moved out and the damages were already there when I moved in. I have tried countless times throughout the week to reach out via email and phone calls however they are not responding at all. The money is due next week and they are not giving me the opportunity to dispute the charges. First off some of the charges are for things that needed to be fixed in the coming areas which I never even used so it makes no sense for that to be something I am responsible for paying for. Secondly the biggest charge on the bill for $145 is for cleaning. Which is something I should not be charged for seeing as it is their responsibility to cleanse the apartment prior to new tenants moving in. It would be considered a health code violation on their end if they did not sanitize it before re leasing it. All I want is for the company to remove the charges and or lower them because $400 is absolutely ridiculous.
