I am filing a complaint against Creditors Specialty Northwest, **** for attempting to collect an invalid debt on behalf of *****************************. The original landlord failed to issue the charge within Oregons legal timeframe (ORS 90.300(12)), making it legally unenforceable. Additionally, their documentation does not provide proof that the alleged damage existed at move-out, only that an odor treatment was later applied. Despite my dispute and request for debt validation, the collection agency is still attempting to collect on an untimely and unproven charge.Since there is no court judgment against me, I am not legally obligated to pay this debt. I request that Creditors Specialty Northwest, **** cease all collection efforts and remove any negative reporting from my credit history. Continued attempts to collect this disputed debt will be considered harassment and reported to the ************************************ (****) if necessary.

Our office has ceased collection efforts as of 02/15/25 in order to work with our client ***************************** to validate the debt  .

Thank you for your response. I am rejecting your response at this time, as the debt has not yet been fully validated. While I appreciate that you have paused collection efforts and mailed a debt validation notice, I will keep this complaint open until I receive proper validation of the debt, including documentation from ***************************** proving that I am legally responsible for the charges in question.

Please note that until I receive a formal validation of the debt, I will consider the dispute unresolved. I expect to be updated on your progress in resolving this matter.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******

Took my ******** in for braces. Was told to sign the treatment and financial consents. Little did I know it was not legal for me to sign. His mom was going to pay the bill and did not. So now this is on my credit report and I'm not married to his dad. I have no medical POA . I want this removed from my credit.

We sincerely appreciate the difficulty of any situation involving the costs of healthcare, especially involving a young person like your stepchild. Because we were only assigned this account from the dentist, we cannot be certain what occurred when you were asked to sign documents by the dentist. However, we do take the issue of your ability to consent to your stepchild's braces seriously. The article you provided on stepparent consent for healthcare is from ******** and references New York laws, but we understand that your concern is about your ability to legally consent to the dentist providing braces to your stepparent. The documents you signed that led to the dentist assigning this account to us are the dentist's financial policies and disclosures of the costs, which you signed as "Financial Guarantor." We are deeply sorry your stepchild's mother does not want to pay for the braces. The only information we are able to act on are the financial agreements and personal guaranty you signed stating that you understand you are responsible for all fees for the dental treatment. Those agreements are separate from any consents the dentist may have asked you to sign, and we do not have any knowledge or information about any consent agreements for dental treatment. I hope you are able to resolve this issue with your stepchild's mother, and you may wish to seek independent legal representation for advice on your options.
