The first electrician that they sent made a mistake that caused my bedroom outlets to stop working that were working prior to his arrival. The second electrician corrected the mistake and blamed the first electrician.I should be responsible for only one visit as a result. On Sept 19, I was then emailed invoices for both visits. I replied Sept 23 asking for clarification, received a response that did not address my issue, and a supervisor was added to the email chain on Sept 23. I replied again on Sept 24 and Oct 6 asking for follow-up but did not receive any follow-up communication before sending both invoices to debt collection. I received a call from debt collection services for the invoice amount of $381 plus charges that increased it over $400 (I don't actually know since I have not received a written statement of any kind from the company after the first two emailed invoices) today May 4 and called the company immediately but was told I couldn't speak to anyone today and would be called back tomorrow. I have no reason to believe that this will happen based on their history.

The client complained she was never called back. In speaking with my business partner he states that he returned her call several times but that she would never pick up the call.

His phone records show that he called several times but she did not respond to him.  It was turned over to collections after multiple attempts to call her proved futile.

date: 01/05/2024 The electrician installed 3 timers taking less than an hour per invoice the estimate was ****** charged 1.5, we are okay on taking the extra hit on the hours. He set the timers to come on at dusk and off at ****, that night the lights never came on, I called the company the next day and **** came back on 1/06/2024, told my wife he must have set the timers incorrectly he was here less than 1/2 hour and reset the timers , that night they came on.We get the invoice and find that the company charged us ****** for **** coming out the next day, I called and emailed on how I felt we shouldn't be responsible for the ******, I don't want to pay for **** mistake for not setting the timers correctly. I called the owner and spoke with him and refused to adjust the invoice . This bill has not been paid yet and I must pay it before they start charging extra fees.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/20/2023

************** is not being completely accurate in his complaint.  ************** requested an written proposal for the work eventually performed as well as other work (that was not performed). The proposal was issued in writing which he signed and returned to us. I have attached a copy of this invoice including his signature to this response.  The price per that proposal was $725 to install, connect and program THREE (3) electronic digital 24/7 programable timer switches.  This work was performed on Jan 5th of this month.  An initial programmed time was set up on all 3 timers.  Unfortunately, they did not go on as scheduled that first night.  Under our warranty we had our electrician return to the ***** home to check and correct the timing as programmed. The lights then functioned as desired.
However, ************** complained that he felt he was paying too much for this service even after having agreed to the proposed price in writing.  He states that it took less than an hour to complete the work on the 5th. However, GPS records indicate that including 1-way travel TO his residence (18 Minutes from our shop plus 81 total minutes working before he left) the electrician took 99 total minutes that day as charged to ****************** job.  ************** expressed that he didn't think he should have to pay the entire amount based on his perception of the time it took to perform the work.  He asked for an adjustment.  In this case the added time for warranty -- which is a bonafide part of the job was added and he was given a Time & Materials only invoice regardless of the written proposal he signed.  That invoice, which he has already given you, included the warranty time the following day.  As you already know, time spent on warranty work is a part of our work and frequently included as a percentage in all work to make sure we have those costs included on average.  The revised invoice including the time spent to return and reprogram the timers came to $718.75 which was only $6.25 less than our original proposal.
We were under no obligation to discount his bill according to the actual time and materials spent on his project. But, we did so anyway. Unfortunately he continues to be unhappy and has now filed a complaint against us.  We would be within our rights to simply rescind the time and materials invoice and to re-invoice him per his signed authorization.
we have in the past performed several thousands of dollars worth of work for ***************  We have been responsive and proper in all our interactions with him.  He received the contracted work at the cost he was guarantied and we responded the very next day under warranty to correct the timer schedule and all to his satisfaction.  He just wants it to be less even though he agreed to the price beforehand and in writing.

I am rejecting this response because: ************** is correct, I have used Contractors Electric before and they did a good job and no mistakes were made, which is why I used them for this job. The actual time and materials spent on this job is at the essence of this complaint.

When I saw the actual time and materials record of invoice **** (already sent) I was astounded to see we were being charged 1.5 hours @ $136 hourly rate for the electrician coming back the following day on 1/6 to fix his mistake by reprogramming the timers. The mistake was on Contractors Electric and therefore, they should incur the $204.

      Sincerely,

      *******************
