On 2/24/25 I hired Home Comfort heating and air to replace my broken HVAC system and upgrade my water heater. I qualified for a 0 APR loan for $2500 over 48 months from the ************************************* to install a more efficient water heater with a heat pump. My Home Comfort salesperson, knowing I had the **** loan, did not research to see if the water heater I wanted qualified for the loan before purchasing it for me and installing it. The water heater was installed on 3/12/25. On 5/1/25, after receiving an emailed invoice from Home Comfort for the cost of the water heater, I emailed them to confirm that EWEB was paying them for my water heater. They responded saying they contacted **** and confirmed it. On 5/2 I received an email from **** stating my water heater did not meet the qualifications for their loan and I either needed to replace it with a water heater that qualified, or lose the loan. After contacting my Home Comfort sales person over the phone on 5/2/25, I was told because he made a mistake, Home Comfort would honor the terms of ****'s loan. I made two payments of $53 dollars to Home Comfort on 5/7/25 and 6/2/25. On 6/30/25 my salesperson called saying his manager wanted to change the payment schedule to 6 months increasing my payments to $400 a month (which is more than my car payment). I told him the most I could afford to pay was $200 a month. He called me back saying I could make payments of $200 a month if I accepted an APR of 2.5. I told him no. I just want the terms of the **** loan they originally agreed to honor because I lost the loan due to their mistake. (Honoring the original loan repayment agreement was not specifically available in the "desired settlement" so I chose billing adjustment.)

Her salesman notified her yesterday that i was out of the office and would call her today. and she filed this complaint before i had a chance to call her. I left here a voicemail around noon today on  7/1/2025 to discus a solution to this and she has yet to respond to allow us to correct it.

Based on the response I rejected, Home Comfort did not read my complaint carefully. I feel I cannot trust any verbal agreements from Home Comfort because they are trying to change their original verbal agreement and I only created a complaint because of this. I did not post any negative reviews on their site or social media. I just want what I was promised. After listening to the voicemail, I immediately emailed their office in response to the voicemail requesting to learn about the solution in-writing, through BBB. (Which was not revealed in their response.)

I will repeat part of my initial complaint: The salesman told me verbally that Home Comfort would honor the terms of the **** loan (that I lost due to their mistake) on 5/2/25. I made two payments based on this agreement. Then two months later the salesman calls again (as stated in my complaint) saying they would not honor the terms of the **** loan and instead offered two different repayment plans that will put my family in financial trouble. My original water heater was old, but still functioning. I would never have replaced it if I had not gotten the **** loan at 0 APR for 48 months making my payments a little over $52 a month.

      Sincerely,

I have been working with this customer over the last week. She believes that the utility has denied her water heater that is listed as approved and trying to get it corrected with EWEB and we are waiting on their response. I have offered her to replace the water heater with a different one if that is what it takes to get her one that qualifies. Once EWEB reply's to her on what they are willing to do we can move forward with the next step. Attached is the email exchanges with the customer and EWEB.

      Better Business Bureau:

Home Comfort offered this solution via email a couple days after leaving me the voicemail. I am very satisfied with this solution. I hope the utility company will respond before my loan acceptance expires. (I would hate for Home Comfort to lose money if the utility company made an error.)

      Sincerely,
