Worked 2 months for horizon could never get a hold of anyone always needed to leave message for return call and took forever for them to call back. I worked 2 months then called them when my father in law passed away they said they would clear my schedule then the next day HR calls and tells me my back ground check had something on it and they couldnt tell me what it was said I had to wait for letter in the mail. What really bothered me was I was trying to help arrange a funeral and I wasnt even in ****** and the call me on the phone telling me they need to terminate my employment. I know in the past 10 years my record is clean and I have 2 moving violations that I told them about before they hired me. They also have a real high turn around rate. One of my clients told me that she has been using them for awhile for her father in law and every other week its a new caregiver. And sometimes no one even shows up and she has to call them they dont call her. If you ever want to take an extra shift when you call to schedule it its either already taken or no one answers the phone. I DO NOT Recommend this company at all to work for. The only good thing is the clients are real nice people

I loved the clients in New Horizons. Especially my last client. She is an amazing individual and deserves the right care and the right attention, as do all clients under the umbrella of New Horizons. I do believe that this business does not seek to truly care for their clients NOR their caregivers. I'm searching for a new business to work for that does not possess absurd qualities neither require you to follow impossible policies. I love Caregiving and helping others is something I've been passionate about since I was a child. I would advise anyone under the care of **, or a caregiver employed by ** to: read up on reviews over the job, counsel with others about the ** agency and search for a more secure job. If you just scheduled an interview with them, they've already hired you, and just because an agency hires you right away does not mean you're especially picked for the job: it means they're in dire need and they are hiring everyone (my observations with New Horizons). A person should have a mind and heart willing to care, and the ability to do that job. They should have the correct qualifications to do so. A PERSON NEEDS REAL HELP, and I won't stand by doing nothing. I would advise caregivers and clients under ** to find another agency that is more responsible, reliable, communicative, and trustworthy. P.S On my first day of working as an ** Caregiver my first client warned me about who ** is. I needed to see for myself. And it looks like the client may be correct; unfortunately there are several agencies NOT looking to HELP, rather taking away money from people who can't care for themselves nor afford the care they truly deserve. I'm going to change that; in small ways, one day in a big way, [we, ppl] must provide the care people need by an agency willing to do the right things. I have high expectations for care agencies, New Horizons is not great. I have high expectations of myself to care for people, and I cannot do it alone for long. Do the right thing.

They never answer the phone and they don't care what is happening at a client's house. They only care that you showed up and they get paid. If the client's are doing drugs, living in unsafe or disgusting health hazard, or if there's a bunch of unsupervised children they don't care. They want you to drive client's in your personal car. ************* for a personal use is different than for work use, it costs a lot more. It's been brought to their attention multiple times, they don't want to talk about it. So if something happens, like an accident, it's the employee that's screwed. They don't have a legal department or any kind of corporate compliance. Most of the people working in there office are young, they don't understand the issues, when there's actual problems that could end up in a lawsuit or what to do about anything. Every supervisor, care manager or HR person I've talked to is practically a child.
