I called this company when my toilet wouldnt flush. They pumped the tank (which they said was not completely full) - $650. No flush. They said I needed new baffles which they installed the next day -$670. No flush. I asked them how we would know the baffles were working unless they cleared the line. They kept telling me that was a plumbing issue. They finally agreed to come clear the line. Well, it worked for about 2 weeks so it wasnt totally cleared. They refused to come back and actually clear the line unless I paid an additional $750. I think that is very high to snake a line. A friend ended up helping me and got the job done. This place didnt even call me back as promised. Im writing this so, hopefully, nobody else will be subject to their bad business dealings. A neighbor I talked to yesterday said they dont use Best any more because they couldnt fix their issue but still charged. As a retiree, Im on a fixed income so I cant keep paying for something that should have been done initially. Thank you for anything you might do to get any monies refunded.

My husband and I moved back to the ******/*********** area and bought a house after I retired. We contacted the same septic business that the previous owners had used and arranged to have the septic tank cleaned out. The first person came April 3, 2024 at 3 p.m. with a large cleaning truck. My husband was not home at the time. Although he tried, the employee was unable to locate the cap for the septic system within thirty minutes. He said his service would cost $275 and the company would bill me (they never did). I was surprised that the company had no record of the septic tank location, having been here to clean the system twice before (2011, 2018). He gave me a card and told me someone would call for locating service. The second person came April 9 at 12:15 p.m. and located the septic tank within five minutes. He did not come in the house. Even though he had a large septic truck with him, he wanted me to make another appointment for the cleanout. He asked me to pay the $450 location fee and I did, by check. So although we could have expected the septic business to know the location of our tank which they had cleaned out twice before, we were charged $450 location fee to find it and (quite minimal) dig to the cap, both of which took fewer than ten minutes. I asked the second person if he could now pump the septic but he said I would need a separate appointment and that it would cost up to $600 for that service. My husband called the company several times in an effort to get our money refunded or get a $450 discount on the cleaning fee.As a senior woman, I feel I was fleeced. We live in a 1940s house and the septic tank is exactly where you would expect to find it. We still have not had our septic tank cleaned and we are out $450. I would like the $450 returned so that we can have the tank cleaned. We plan to do that by a more trustworthy company.

I am rejecting this response because I feel we have already talked to the company and acted in good faith. Now it is time for the company to do the same. For other customers, we hope the company keeps records of locations of septic systems that you have cleaned. We expect a full refund of the $450 locating fee.

      Sincerely,
