      During the horrible January 13th, 2024 storm, we had five big **** firs blown over, three on top of our home of 32 years. Richs bid on the removal was a ridiculous $53,000. Unbelievable! We ultimately had a company remove the three for under $20,000. Richs should be ashamed of themselves for price gauging when our home was partially destroyed.

      I choose ****'s to remove a hazardous tree because they could schedule removal the fastest. They were not the cheapest but it was urgent. Upon arriving, I had a pleasant-enough conversation with the lead person about where to best park the 10k lb. wood chipper in a tight space from the narrow street. Upon exiting, they drove the heavy woodchipper OVER the water line service pipe (the portion I'd be responsible for fixing if damaged), barely missing by about 1-2 inches the water meter box. When I complained, they said they'd send out the contractor they work with to address such complaints. The contractor came and looked at the woodchipper tracks of compressed earth, looking into water meter box and luckily seeing no signs of water leakage. I asked for a business card and checked his ****** CCB license number which had been inactive for several years. I would not feel comfortable having an unlicensed contractor working on my property. They also could not give me a straight answer as to whether or not City tree removal permit fee was included in my bill, as other tree service companies said it was. I would not use them again.
