Our service tech ***** came out on Friday 6/24/2022 to perform a tune up on our ** unit. He cleaned the coils and replaced the capacitor. The cost for this was $567.68. That day was not very hot, so we didn't run the unit after he left. The next day we turned on the ** and left the house. By midmorning I get an alert that the temp in my house exceeds 82. By the time we get back it's 86 in my house and the ** won't even come on. My husband had to disconnect and reconnect the power to get it to even come on. Needless to say, we limped along without ac on a day that reach triple digits. By Sunday, 6/26/2022 we called Jahnke because the motor was obviously going out. ***** came back and confirmed that the motor had gone bad. He just so happened to have a universal motor in his truck for $550. My husband had already researched motors online, and the one for my unit was listed for $200. He told ***** that's all we would pay and ***** accepted the deal. Now, 7/26/2022, I get an invoice #******** for $350 because he was not authorized to make that deal. At no time did ***** indicate that we would be receiving an additional invoice. He led us to believe that paying $200 would settle our account. As it is, I'm inclined to believe that it wasn't ******* negligence that caused an otherwise running ** unit to suddenly stop working! I am asking for a billing adjustment in the amount of $350 to be waived.
