I paid to have this shop machine/rebuild and assemble engjne. When I got them engine I installed it they also forgot to return the hardware I provided and painted/ stripped parts of paint I never agreed to have done (Im a professional full time mechanic )after a few days the engine was making noise so I drained the fluids tore out the vehicle and sent it back. When I sent the engine back there machine work failed and they fixed it. When I put it back in with fluids and gaskets I paid for and attempted to start it it wouldnt fire. During further inspection the engine was assembled incorrectly with the cam and crankshaft out of time. So now I cant see if the valve seat was fixed without it being able to run .With the engine failed to be machined once and failed to assemble during the second time. Ive lost all faith in this engine and business that built it on a engine I spent money on that I planned on putting in my dream car

When an engine comes in, all of the parts get cleaned as you cant appropriately machine dirty parts (mechanics know this). If customer doesnt want stuff washed then we have dealt with it differently. If a part is brought in it gets washed. Especially if we are assembling it. The missing hardware mentioned was found and returned as it was missed when emptying his part tote.
After the customer picked up the engine and installed it. The owners went to his house to see what was going on and what the problem was so that we could address it. There didnt, at that time, seem to be an issue.
A short while later though it developed a soft cam and threw a valve seat. The customer brought the engine back and we built it again with new parts and Cam (treated as a warranty and no charge to customer) and checked the ********************** work. Put it all back together again and the clearances and rotation was double checked. No issue was found.
Customer let us know that there was a problem and that his motor wouldnt start/fire. Customer was given the option (as we dont have facilities for removal or install) of either pulling the motor himself and we would make it right or have his place of employment do the work and we would work out how we would pay his employer for the work. His employer agreed to do the work with no issue. That is the last thing we heard from him until receiving this letter.

In February of 2022 I took my engine in to get it rebuilt by ***'s and asked for a quote. They said they would need a week to give me a quote. I called them in a week and they didn't have a quote. Weeks of me calling and going down to their shop and still no quote. I wanted them to rebuild it to factory specs and all they could give me was an estimated cost. The engine was still not finished so I asked for just the parts and not an assembled engine. At this point he pulled out a part, supposedly from the engine, and said it was beyond repair so the engine would cost $6,000 to pick up. When I went to pick up the engine it came down to $4,000 which is what I paid. I put the engine together and back in the truck and it wouldn't pass smog. I took it to a one repair shop and then the dealer to find out it had low compression and thus a misfire. The reason it has taken so long to file this complaint is because of the time to install and take it in to multiple shops to find the problem. Their engine is junk and I would at least like a partial refund.

This is the first time that we are hearing about there being any issue with this engine. We have a 12 month/12000 mile warranty and would be more than happy to help with anything needed if he would like to get into contact with us.

I am beyond the 12month warranty time frame. The reason is because it took time to determine it was the engine causing the check engine light. I have receipts from one shop and the *** dealership that the engine has a misfire. Is the engine still covered under warranty?

We understand that sometimes it takes awhile to do an install after pickup. We also know that sometimes things happen that you can't foresee, and would have liked the chance to work through the problem with the customer.  Reguardless what the warranty was, we would like the chance to address this with the customer. Very interested in what the engine code was and seeing the receipts and what was done. If it is something that we are responsable for then let us take care of it.

My husband's car was under repair by a friend who was using Factory Outlet Tire's shop in *********. The engine head was sent to this shop, who after a month and a half said they lost it, 1 week later we were told they ordered a new one, then 2 weeks later told "oh they found it'. They charged Factory Outlet Tire $619.77, which we now owe. More than 2 months for their s**** up, they should have done it for free. My husband has been without a vehicle for almost 3 months now due to their incompetence, and I have been getting up at 3:30 am to take him to work, and work full time myself as a federal employee. This has had impact on my health as well.
