I strongly advise everyone to avoid the service department at Comrie. My experience was the worst Ive ever had. I have had many cars and homes with lots of repairs, but nothing even close to this experience. Their warranty process does not align with the manufacturer, and the technicians exhibit the poorest craftsmanship Ive ever seen. I also suspect there is absolutely no quality control. This was a brand new Travel Trailor!State of Cleanliness: When I picked up my trailer, it was in a deplorable state: Dirty handprints all over the ceiling. Contact cement (roof glue) splattered on the floor, in the sink, and other areas. Sawdust, electrical clippings, and screws scattered across the floor and furniture. Scratches all over our solid surface countertops. Personal Effort: I spent three days just cleaning up their mess. ** Baffles: The ** baffles were installed backwards, causing indentations on the ceiling panels, and the ** units would blow out in the same area they are supposed to pull in. Missing Bolts: One of the reclining seats had a large bolt lying on it. Upon investigation, I found that the front ** unit had only two bolts instead of four. I had to install the third bolt myself and order the fourth. Improper Installation: They used a 1.75-inch s**** to secure the bracket through a 1/4-inch piece of plywood, which protruded under the backsplash. Sealant: The sealant on the roof was insufficient, with some areas not fully covered and others already peeling away. Backup Camera: The trailer was supposed to be prepped for a backup camera, but there was no wiring. They added the wiring by opening the interior wall and pulling from the backup light and only attached one wire, the other was just stuffed in the hole, then covered it with a plate. This could have been done while the roof was being repaired. Check the ****** review for photos. It is unbelievable!!Comrie R V Inc

This young man is having a hard time differentiating fault concerning the various organizations involved in his RV bad buying experience. To start with he lives ********, ****** and proceeded to purchase his new trailer out of town, a dealer in ****. I suspect he saw something on the internet where there was a next to nothing price advertised, a price leader. Typically circumstances such as this leads to bad things. Likely the dealer did not *** the trailer (Pre Delivery Inspection) to save money. The trailer was likely advertised cheap to draw possible Portland buyers. The *** is a very important step offered by the dealer where the dealer goes through the trailer front to back, appliances, structural (roof), mechanical functions, etc. Comrie RV is thorough on ***s. So as Mr. **** says to "keep in mind that this was a brand new trailer," I'd ask the reader to keep in mind that we had nothing to do with selling Mr. **** this brand new trailer so he was subjected to whatever *** efforts this Utah dealer put into the process. Interestingly enough, Mr. **** professes to be a very experienced buyer at his young age of somewhere between 25 and 30 years old. He's purchased "many cars and many houses," hmm, and apparently knows it all. He's obviously quite astute at how life works at his very young age.
As Mr. **** indicated the roof was peeling back as he was pulling his new trailer home from *****, ****. This trailer was obviously defective and in need of attention before leaving this dealership in ****. The roofing material "peeling back" is an understatement. The roof material (***) was half gone. It was peeled clear back with only the air conditioner holding it in place by the time he arrived at our dealership. As a side note RV dealers are not required by dealer contract to conduct factory warranty work for other RV dealers. The young man was in a bad spot with the roof nearly pulled away from his brand new trailer and he was trying to get home to ********. His timing was not the best for our schedule, June 22, 2024, the middle of the summer, the middle of our selling season, the middle of a very busy shop schedule with lots of service calls on air conditioning work, and lots of general work already scheduled up before his problem arrived. Yes, I question our benevolence in taking on his job.
Hindsight is always better than foresight. We thought we were being a Samaritan in helping him with his challenging problem of hauling his new trailer with the roof falling off. Now was ***** my warranty clerk rude to him? From ******* perspective this is a case of projection. She is of the opinion that he was aggressive, pushy, and relentless, calling excessively about our progress. Understandably he wanted the trailer back as soon as possible, but we were not able nor willing to drop all other commitments to satisfy his demands. His trailer came in on June 22 and left with him on July 19th, in this time period, as stated early, we were under the gun with other pre scheduled work, as well as, the challenge of waiting for his parts to complete his work. His challenging demeanor was confirmed by the **************** people who he also frequently called concerning our timing on his trailer.
"The deplorable state of his trailer" when he picked it up. Mr. **** emphatically was not interested in paying for a detail (a thorough cleaning) after the repair work was completed. Everything was to be covered under warranty, but warranty does not cover details. ***** and the others involved feel the trailer was sufficiently clean when it left here. The 2 multiple fingerprints was an exaggeration. There could have been a fingerprint or two, yes, it's possible. At his request we installed a backup camera system after his roof was repaired, and had to run wires in and through the ceiling. My technician swept the trailer out when the work was completed. We may have missed some wire clippings. The glue seems unlikely since we were not using glue in the trailer. This was probably residual debris from the factory production line since the selling dealer did not *** the trailer to the standard one might expect, or at all. We do not use counter tops for tool storage. I would argue that whatever scratches he saw were from factory production or selling dealer's work. I have no idea, but he seems to be intent on blaming us for his misfortunes. Remember Mr. **** had just purchased this trailer, and I suspect he hadn't had the trailer in his possession long. I really doubt he had time to do his micro inspection prior to bringing it to us. Mr. **** showed pictures of his dirty bathroom in his complaint post. We had to remove the skylight to complete the roof job and no doubt we probably got some saw dust, and or just some dust in the shower stall. My technician did in fact make the effort to wipe down and remove most of the debris from his work, but we did not detail the trailer. As discussed Mr. **** was not interested in paying for any detail work. When technicians are at work they are trying to get the work out timely and correctly, and are probably not going to leave the job site cleaner than they left it. The air conditioning issue is a mystery. The baffles cannot be installed backwards; they only go in one way. The bolts not
installed properly is a question I can't answer. It seems that the A/C unit would not stay in place properly if all the bolts were not all installed. My guys work on air conditioning units frequently, and I have never heard of this problem. I would apologize if an error was made in reinstalling this A/C unit.
The cracked Microwave trim, the sealant for the roof (Dicor sealant) are both items that should have been taken care of by his selling dealer with a proper ***. We of course repaired both of these items at Mr. ****** request and under manufacturer's warranty. It appears, in Mr. ****** complaint letter, that we are being blamed for these deficiencies as well. The backup camera complaint is also invalid. We created a spot for the backup camera after the roof was repaired. Mr. **** informed us of the need for the backup camera after the roof work had been completed, and it was necessary to take wires to install the camera through the ceiling of the bedroom rather than disturb the recent roof install. The work was completed in good taste, no wires exposed, etc. I assume Mr. **** may have felt that we should have known of his desire for a backup camera, or that we should have known all the options his trailer was to have. We are a Keystone Cougar dealer not an Outback dealer, and there was nothing on the trailer to indicate there was, or should be, a backup camera install kit option. I'm not sure what Mr. **** thinks he saw the unused wire that was supposedly stuffed back in place. The wiring job was completed and usable with positive and negative wire leads as needed. Once again this issue
should have been remedied with a proper *** from his selling dealer. Mr. **** just completed another post with pictures of his roof while he is walking on his roof. The pictures show wrinkles and bubbles that show on the *** material. Mr. **** does not understand the dynamics of how the *** (rubber roof material) functions. It' s a membrane that moves and flexes. If it didn't it would tear and be worthless. Various changes in temperature will influence the membrane stretching and flexing. When Mr. **** walks on his roof the sheeting beneath the *** will retract and move creating ripples and or bubbles in this *** material. When Mr. **** stands on the roof with his weight the membrane will stretch and exhibit, like tight fitting clothes, the surface idiosyncrasies of the sheeting material beneath. We of course did not work on the wood sheeting beneath, that was factory installed. Other than possibly resetting a s**** or two we felt the factory installed sheeting was adequately put in place.
3 ****************** "horrendous" remarks about our organization when we choose to assist him in his effort to get his trailer home. He stated that we cut wires around a Winegard boosted antenna. My technician stated the Winegard system had chewed wires when it came into our care. It looked like the wires got hit with a hole saw cutter / drill when the Winegard antenna was being installed at the plant. The plant workers were cutting holes for wires to access the roof. We did not make hole saw cuts to get wires put in place, and because of the urgent nature of the repair parameters we did not propose to do this repair in our shop. We were commissioned to repair the roof and later the backup camera system and as expeditiously as possible. Replacing these chewed wires / cut wires was going to be an
involved process. You cannot splice this type of wire. The repair calls for new wire replacement to be run through the ceiling and walls. Once again the selling dealer should have caught this deficiency with a *** and made the repairs before the unit was sold. Mr. **** left our organization stating to us that he was very happy with our service, and now surprisingly has made this public address without any contact to inform us of his challenges. Conversely, in relation to Mr. ****** closing statement
concerning customer protection from our service department. I would hope for the sake of the various repair facilities in the ******** area, or others around the state of ******, that they may not be misguided into doing repair work for this young man's future or present purchases. Hopefully the Portland Outback dealers will see fit to send Mr. ****** future warranty work back to his selling dealer in **** rather than having to deal with his vitriol and horrible demeanor.A. L.

It is disappointing to see the owner's response to my negative review of my experience at this dealership. The owner seems to have taken a lot of time to write this, but unfortunately, it is filled with assumptions and opinions about me, a customer he has never met.For those reading this, I recommend viewing the photos of my trailer's condition when I picked it up via this ******* review link](**************************************SSN****SSN**8/place/ChIJXWkJuu24olQRJ1e6EpgJ8V8/@45.6275495,-121.14**SSN**48m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!1m5!8m4!1e1!2s**SSN****SSN**8!3m1!1e1?hl=en-US&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDEwOC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D). Photos are worth a thousand words! It is poor business practice to recognize a problem and not only fail to inform the customer but also cover it up. I hope that the Better Business Bureau (BBB) can mediate responses like this that are full of assumptions and opinions. I have never met the owner, and I won't pretend to know him in any way.I would advise avoiding this place like the plague. If you don't, you can expect this kind of response from a business owner who has nothing better to do than defend negative reviews when he should be working on the quality of his business. Perhaps if he were present and conducted a quality inspection, this might never have happened. I recommend sticking to reputable dealerships with clear and honest reviews, where the owner actively works on correcting issues rather than creating them. Also, be cautious with the Keystone-certified technician list.Review fromTerry B

3 starsIve dealt a lot with Comrie RV over nearly 10 years. Ive spent thousands and thousands of dollars with them not by purchasing a RV, but by use of their repair services. I like them on a personal level, but I find them being mostly trained on the job and lacking proper tech training. They are polite and do the best they can but they dont have sufficient training. That has cost me several thousand dollars over the years. I just wish they would send their guys to school during the slower times of the year to make them the best they can be. I finally had to start using another company. Im always very polite to them and they dont even bother to call me back. I believe in supporting home town business but I can call a company that will return my call, that has up to date training, for the same call out price as Comrie, even though the other company is 35 miles away. I wish them well, but Im done.
