December of 2024 I called G&S Tire Factory here in ********* to see if they would install shocks that I had already purchased. They said that they would. Gave me a quote of about $300. I brought my car in and two hours later I get a phone call that the shocks that I had bought from Rock Auto didnt fit (we used my cars vin#) and I now had to purchase shocks through them because they CUT the shocks out of my vehicle. now with labor and new shocks then the price goes up to about $1,000. So they have my car for a few days and I get the call that the shocks are in and theyve got them put together and that theres some kind of bar that needs fixed which is another $350 And labor so my bill is now $1,600. The part doesnt come in for three weeks cause its around Christmas. I FINALLY get my car back on a Friday night RIGHT before they close. Im driving down 395 as soon as I exit to the shop in my car sounds HORRIBLE! clanging and banging and thumping and bumping! The wheel on the right side starts BOUNCING in the wheel well with my kids in car scared the c*** out of all of us. so I baby it all the way home and I dont drive my car all weekend. I called Monday morning and the manager proceeded to tell me that thats just what cars sound like after you get shocks repaired, for the record, my car has ****** miles TOTAL on it and didnt even need the shocks replaced. I just work on a farm and wanted new ones. These guys refuse to fix my car. The mechanic (the same manager **** said listen this is what Reddit says after you get your shocks fixed. Thats what it sounds like and then proceeded to tell me that they did everything they could do and I needed to take it somewhere else to fix WHAT THEY DID TO MY CAR After taking it to another shop in town it was completely fixed in a couple hours with no issues. They were absolutely unwilling to work with me on the bill. The owner refuses to talk to me about it or give any explanation as to what was going on with my car.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/10/2025

    Hello *******,

Our official response to this request is that there will be no refund as job was performed and completed with new parts as requested, other areas of concern were things we do not work on such as transmission/transfer case.

Side not: the timeline for the complaint is off for series of events and how they took place, shocks were NOT cut off, they did need replaced but as per the letter attached you can see we did give them the option to put back on the blown shocks, the sway bar links did have to be replaced as they were cut off because the nuts were frozen and would not come off which is necessary for the repair.

we just found out yesterday 7/1/25 that the *********** have tried a second time with synchrony to get a full refund and has been denied by synchrony again.

I can attach the letter that was sent to synchrony a few months back but I don't know if you have submit it since it does have names on the letter.

I'm not sure if you need anything else from me at this time, if so please feel free to reach back out, we still have not seen the transcript from synchrony, just the decision to deny both requests due to the info provided to synchrony for their own investigation.

    Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: there employee *******, called us and said, they were so bad that we had to CUT the shocks out. We would not have proceeded other wise. They put us in a position to be forced to buy new shocks.

I would like to see the document they said they attached that refers to us telling them to proceed with shocks. Because we most certainly did not.

    Sincerely,
