This business collects a deposit to support ordering Wheelchair Lift equipment and collects the balance (~$6,000) upon installation which is fine. However they prefer to collect the deposit in cash or by debit card to avoid the fee. If you pay by credit card the 3% fee is added to your bill. I have reported this to the bank/****. This may violate their merchant agreement **** is reviewing it.In collecting the cash/debit card deposit, they provide no agreement stating the terms and conditions of applying to the deposit. Does it apply to the purchase? Under what circumstance will it be refunded, if any and other basic business questions. They make verbal claims about terms but don't produce written documents. This may be the beginnings of a fraudulent transaction or it may be due to lack of professionalism on their part. They should have receipts pre printed and available for customer review to support cash/debit card deposits. In addition and most concerning, one employee, ***********************, General Manager, asked for the deposit in cash. This was very concerning. They are suppliers/installers for a company, *****, who has been in business a number of years providing equipment for the disabled/elderly. I have equipment manufactured by *****; none of their other suppliers pressured me for a deposit in cash. Unfortunately, this business is the only game in town who will sell and install a wheelchair/scooter lift in my car.I proceeded to use a credit card and pay the merchant fee of 3%. because I need this lift. However, this business serves to the disabled and elderly who may not be in a position to go elsewhere and/or protect themselves from predatory practices on the part of this merchant.I am not fully confident in the ethical standards of this company and would like to put my experience on record to inform others and to protect myself in the event I have further problems with this firm.
