I took my daughters car to Trinity in March 2022. The car was frequently stalling. They had the car for a week and informed me that it needed a full engine rebuild at $4200, "she's basically got a brand new car after this" is what I was told. I paid this fee and then went to pick up. In their lot, my daughter started the car and it stalled out immediately. She went back in to tell them and the technician said that it was probably just cold and it should be fine from now on. It wasn't fine. The car still had the issue off an on the next few months. I took it back so they could try again over summer. They had it a week. I got a call that there was a sensor that wasn't working properly and gave them the ok to fix it. I then got a call a few days later that I could come pick up the car, they said it wasn't the sensor and they couldn't find anything else. The car continued to stall. I took it to a new repair shop Westgate Auto. They found 2 faulty sensors, replaced both at a cost of just over $300 and the car has been great ever since. I voice my concern to *******'s owner that I paid a large sum of money to fix a problem that wasn't fixed and that when it stalled in their lot, it was brushed off as nothing.

      Business Response

As documented in the work order, the vehicle was brought in for  Check engine light being on and the vehicle intermittently not moving when in gear. The other issue being a stiff steering condition and squealing noise.
tech was able to confirm trans complaint but couldnt verify check engine light or codes in computer.
tech removed trans pan for inspection and found metal debris in Pan which indicated and internal failure of the transmission.
.customer opted for the more economical repair which was a used transmission with 74k miles on it.
the other issue was diagnosed as a steering gear replacement and an updated pump reservoir due to a n internal restricted filter.
the total of all the work perform combined to $4200. There was never any engine work performed nor would any of our staff misrepresent the fact the installation of a used transmission would constitute that the vehicle is now brand new.
the vehicle had ****** miles on it and other problems can arise as the vehicle le is driven and continues to age

with knowing what other sensors were replaced to fix the issue, I cant not reply knowledgeably n the specific issue. The repairs that we performed were in fact needed and were performed to industry standards.
