Valley Credit Services has been extremely verbally aggressive towards me when trying to find out more about a medical bill I didnt know I had. They were very rude and uncommunicative. I dont even have an account number, they were unable to provide me with an account amount information and my past payments. The lady who handles my case also tried to scare me by saying the sheriff is looking for you. This company has no professionalism and wont listen to the fact that I dont owe this debt. At the beginning I made payments of ***** but then realized that debt should have been covered by my OHP. They are currently suing me and I think they are scamming me.Business Response

I listened to all the call recordings and I found no evidence of Verbal Abuse or aggressiveness. However from now on we will say "We are trying to get papers served to you, rather than "The Sherriff is looking for you." We agree that this could potentially be perceived as negative and scary, which we did not mean to do. we are simply trying to communicate with the consumer about these bills. We were hired by ****** Emergency Physicians to collect 3 unpaid bills. I have attached the bills and the signature agreeing to pay each after insurance was billed. I have verified with my client that all three visits were billed to OHP and all three visits were denied by OHP (see attached) I have redacted all PHI (Personal Health Information) out of extreme caution for the consumers privacy. We are scheduled in court for mediation on this case 03/17/2025. Insurance and insurance billing is done as a courtesy to the patient, any non0-payment must be followed up on by the consumer. All three bills are due and payable and we have followed all Local, state and federal laws in the process of trying to recover these unpaid medical bills for our client.Initial Complaint

I received a letter in the mail threatening to sue me about a sum of money they say I owe. The amount they say is $503.81. There are no supporting documents that show what this money is for. On the back of the document is says there is a list of accounts currently assigned for collection with everything underneath being blank.I feel like this is fraud.Business Response

I assure you there is ZERO FRAUD occurring here as you accuse us of, having operated in *****/Keizer for over 88 years with an A+ with the BBB and 100% resolved satisfactory complaint history with the ***** Attorney General and The FTC. Indeed we suffer from a clerical error which I immediately acknowledged to you and rectified upon being notified. The consumer, ***** Niderost contacted my office via email on Friday 09/20/2024 to tell me that the letter had incorrect details on it (see attached email correspondence between me and Mr. ******** regarding the letter stating there were additional details on the back). Upon receiving his email I immediately began investigating, only to learn that because we just hired a brand new mailing Company called REVSPRING and they made an error as to the programming of the letter and they corrected the letter immediately, as in THAT DAY. Then On 09/24/2024 at 1:57 p.m. I emailed ***** ********, with an updated copy of the letter that I am trying to communicate things to him, the copy of the bill owed to ****** Emergency Physicians, and the signature that guaranteed payment of said ****. I am simply trying to get this bill paid for my client ****** Emergency Physicians. I am attaching all CORRECTED documents that were emailed to the consumer. *****, could you and I have a conversation about this matter, you can reach me directly at ************.Initial Complaint

Hello, my little brother was bit in the eye by a dog (not ours). At the hospital I talked with the nurses about financially being able to take care of the bill since I take care of my little brother but am not able to pay that bill. I was told that they would attempt to get information from dog owners. Years later, I am getting contacted from these debt collection - for the same amount and 2 different collections.. After receiving a letter stating that if I do not pay they will send it to my area for immediate collection. Hearing that, sounds like a threat (Valley Credit Service, **** As I am trying to give my little brother a better life of course this just adds onto the pile. After talking with them, we agreed on a $50 monthly payment. After logging into the website I see two different accounts with two different dates of unknown to me. I asked for an itemized bill - was told to log in and still not able to find. This has been stressful as I was told they were going to help financially or get it from the dog owners that caused this.Business Response

Valley Credit is not responsible for any promises that were made by the nursing staff. Nor are nurses ever able to write off or forgive bills as this only happens by the staff in the business office. These two ******** are not the core hospital bill but rather two unpaid emergency room physician bills that remain unpaid. On 01/02/23 we were hired by ****** Emergency Physicians to collect ****** for a date of service in the hospital of 12/10/2022, the services that remain unpaid are for the Physician who bills separate in the hospital. Then again on 11/13/2023 a second unpaid bill was sent to our collection agency for a DIFFERENT emergency room visit on 07/25/23. I have attached copies of both bills and redacted the Private Health Information (Diagnoses). Both bills are due and payable. Our client has confirmed today that they stand by the bills as presented. We have spent 2 letters, 113 minutes and 3 phone calls as well as 4 conversations and the consumer never explained any of this to us, so to escalate it to the BBB at this juncture seem very inappropriate as there are steps the consumer must make to clear up these items, personal responsibility is essential for the success of navigating our finances. ER Docs sent 4 statements to the patient on each bill due and then Valley Credit sent Validation Notices on both debts that never got disputed until now. Valley Credit Service strictly adheres to all Federal,State and local laws in regards to Collections and Business Practices. We have an A+ with the Better Business Bureau. We are certified Debt Collection Specialist through the ACA. We take pride in the work we do in the community and with consumers. We try very hard to provide proof of debt and explanations of why it has been turned over to Valley Credit Service. The unit manager at Valley Credit has sent copies of the bills unredacted today to try to help the consumer understand further.

I am rejecting this response because:I would like to see those documents from the client for the services. I asked for a itemized list and it was not an itemized list it was when it was transferred to valley credit services. I would like both bills for the different days, please.
Sincerely,

I reject THE CONSUMERS REJECTION AS I HAVE PERSONALLY SPENT TWO HOURS OF MY TIME CHASING DOWN HER REDUCTIONS IN **HER** FAMILY BILLS FOR ***HER*** ON HER BEHALF. I ATTACHED THE BILLS AND SIGNATURES TO THE LAST BBB COMPLAINT; WE HAVE RESOLVED THE CONSUMERS COMPLAINT AND YET SHE CONSTINUES TO FILE MORE COMPLAINTS, THIS SEEMS UNFAIR AND BURDENSOME!!!
The consumer filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against Valley Credit Service, *** as well, and as a result of that complaint, which is exactly what is stated here, we went to our client, ****** Emergency Room Physicians, whom are separate from the hospital billing, and they were unaware of the promises made by the hospital and they have decided to completely forgive the Date Of Service: 12/10/2022 for the Dog Bite incident. Then for the date of service 07/25/2023, they lowered the bill to $69.86 with .31 cents of collection agency interest. This is NOT REQUIRED BY OUR CLIENT, BUT THEY ARE DOING THESE WRITE-OFFs to be kind, and give the consumer the benefit of the doubt.
Valley Credit Service, ***. strictly adheres to all Federal, State and local laws in regards to our Collections and Business Practices. We are hired by people in the community and have no magic crystal ball to know the back-story behind the thousands of bills assigned to our office each year. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We are certified Debt Collection Specialist through the ***** and the American Collectors Association. We take pride in the work we do in the community and with consumers.Customer Answer

Apple valley credit services sent me a debt collection letter stating that I owed them $******. I do not believe I owe this debt and when they send me the bills which showed they were paid off and they were still wanting the $******. Checked my bank account and even found the canceled check for ****** that I paid to centennial medical group, the exact company that supposedly sent me to collections. I had also paid them over $3000 previously for a different bill and did not actually look into it but now I think they might have been lying then as well. I have contacted the doctors office and the insurance, but I am afraid to confront predatory bill collectors.Business Response
