In October 2024, I took my Burberry coat, which was in perfect condition, to Lakeview Cleaners for dry-cleaning. When I went to pick it up, I discovered white stains all over the coat. The staff assured me they would attempt to fix the damage. Over the following month, I visited their business four times, only to be told it wasnt ready. When I finally received the coat, they had attempted to cover the stains with black ink. This made the coat unwearable, as the ink transferred to my hands whenever I touched it. After another month, the coat was returned in the same ruined ************ that point, I refused to accept the coat, as it was completely ruined. The owner offered me $1,036 as compensation, along with the coat, which was far below its value. I purchased the coat in ******* for over $3,800, and it also had great sentimental value to me. I declined the offer and opted to wait for their insurance to process the claim instead. The insurance company, Farmers Insurance (Claim #**********, Phone: *****************, Email: ****************************** contacted me and requested photos and videos of the damage, which I sent. Meanwhile, the dry cleaner's owner persistently called me, pressuring me to accept his offer. After weeks of back-and-forth, I finally agreed to accept the $1,036 in December 2024. The owner issued me a check for $1,036 and claimed his insurance agent had the coat. He assured me he would retrieve it. However, despite my repeated visits to his business and follow-ups, the owner has not returned my coat. When I contacted his insurance company directly, I was informed that the claim was closed on December 5, 2024, and that they never had possession of the coat. It has become clear that the owner of Lakeview Cleaners has been dishonest with me. Not only did they ruin my coat, but they also misled me about its whereabouts and have failed to return it. To make matters worse, I have been treated with complete disrespect during this process.
