We responded to this person's complaint via email. We let her know that we are unable to modify a credit report, and to remove the inquiry she needs to contact the credit bureau directly. We provided a link to the credit bureau she needs to contact. One inquiry will not "Destroy" a credit report. More than ten might.

When you apply for a rental property, the property manager will pull a credit product which is a hard pull. This is an expected action, and the applicant signs an application giving the property manager permission to do so. It is similar to buying a house or car. Credit history is evaluated in each of these instances.

I'm sorry the person is frustrated, and hope that she will contact the credit bureau for help.

The company has a shady and questionable business model where the tenant (consumer) pays for their own report but the report is owned by the real estate agency. The tenant is not provided the same digital access rights to their own report as the agent.I had a terrible experience with this company where one of the real estate agents asked me to apply for a rental property which was already rented out. I paid for the *** report but now I was at the mercy of the agent to use the report for a different property, using their agency services only. I wanted to apply to a different property but the agent created all sort of troubles in sharing the report until I escalated and threatened to report it as a fraud. The other option was to pay *** again for another report. The worst part of the experience was the customer service of *** and their indifference to my problem. Because they received my money through the real estate agency, they couldn't care less for me as a consumer. First, they kept quoting secure server and privacy laws while not allowing me to see my own report in digital format through portal/email. I asked that if the portal is not secure to see my report, how come they take my sensitive information as inputs through the same portal? At this point, customer care started raising voices and telling me this is the policy. The only way they offered my report was through physical mail in ***** business days. In a competitive rental market, this timeframe is essentially useless. This scenario was technically fraud conducted on their online portal but *** representatives couldn't care less. They refused to take any ownership of the issue and didn't offer any escalation or reporting option within ***. They kept on saying that agency owns the report and I cannot get access to my own data due to their policy. The consumer of the report should have the same digital access rights to their own report. Anything less than that, is facilitating fraud on their portal.
