      Upon our arrival 15 minutes prior to check in our daughter needed to use the bathroom so we entered 10 minutes early. When our daughter came out she explained that the house appeared dirty and beds werent made. At that time I immediately went inside to see for myself and discovered the house appeared to have not been cleaned. Property owner seemed shocked and stated since we showed up early the cleaners would not **************, I explained to her there is no way they could have cleaned the house in 10 minutes. She tried to reach the cleaning company and they did not return her calls or text messages. She said the only way for a full refund was for us to leave and find another place to stay! This was August 23rd the busiest time of year and the rest of my party of 14 was arriving within a couple hours. I told her that was not satisfactory as we would have had to drive the 2 1/2 hours home as there was nowhere else for us to stay. She then suggested refunding my cleaning fee and we could clean the house ourselves. I was in tears and felt she was being unreasonable and asked if she would also include one nights refund and she refused to do both worried about a bad review! My 72 year old mother and sister started cleaning the house and doing the laundry that the previous guests had started per the departure instructions. The property owner said she would refund us one full night which never happened. I messaged her repeatedly asking when I would see the refund with sometimes zero response. I didnt get a complete response from her until I did my VRBO review at which time she responded with giving me a bad review which I wasnt surprised with her lack of professionalism or respect for her guests. She also replied to my review with false information stating we arrived hours early. I have proof of my call to her and my families arrival after 5. I will load the pictures I have and will see if I can get the ones from my family as I was outside on the phone upset

      I am rejecting this response because the business still hasnt offered any resolution.  Their response is only they dont pay the BBB fee to get an A+ rating.  Not even sure they read the complaint or care to rectify the situation.

      On March 16,2023 I contacted High Style Vacation homes about renting Surf Cottage 2 on the ****** Coast. I spoke with a *************************************** who reserved the dates and was going to email me a contract. A ***** Erickson emailed a contract to a different home twice as expensive. I saw the little over 6k price and signed. When I went back to see how much to write the check for I saw it said 2 payments of 6k. I immediately panicked and contacted them. ******** said they sent the wrong house. ***** was confused by it all. I finally got her to understand it was the wrong house. She said my house is not available for those days, they rented it to someone else. Very frustrating!!! She said that I would receive something from docusign saying that mansion house contract was cancelled. I have not yet gotten the cancellation of that contract. I have sent them several emails and they have not responded back.

      Hello- When you contacted us you requested Surf Resort. We sent the rental agreement for that property. The Surf Cottage 2 was never discussed and was never available for your requested dates. We did not collect or charge any funds for this request and a reservation was never confirmed. We are sorry the home you wanted was not available.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. 

      I also include an email from them saying they were sending me the forms to sign for the real house I rented! She is so very wrong in her statement, but as long as I have it here that they are not doing about the holding me to a wrong contract I am fine with it. 

      ***** and ******** Erickson need to get on the same page and talk to each other. They are messing with peoples vacation plans! When you are trying to find a house on a certain day and 7 adults take the time off work, then they do this! Messed up!

      I rented a luxury vacation rental for $6, 627 for my family that housed all 20 of us for 3 nights, September ***** 2022. I found this vacation rental on VRBO but in the listing was directed to Highstylevacahomes.com to save money on the fees charged by VRBO. We checked in at 5pm Friday night September 16. At 2pm on September 17 ************************* (homeowner) showed up on the property and told me I had an hour to pack up the house and vacate the premises and that my family and I were being evicted. We had a permit from ****** Parks and Rec to have a beach wedding ceremony. We coordinated with 40 friends and family and they all had their own rentals in the area and walked to get to the beach ceremony. We had a catered lunch on the beach and they used public beach access next to the house to carry table and food to the beach (which was allowed per our permit). Neighbors sent photos to ***** of chairs being set up on the beach and she said I was in breach of the house contract that stated "no weddings" and was therefore being evicted. I did not have any part of the wedding on any part of her property. She was being very unreasonable. I offered to have people move down by the state park end of the beach and she responded, I was wasting time from my hour to get out and that anything left in the house would be locked inside. My brother and I decided it would be best for to contact the police because we weren't in the wrong. When she found out we called the police she said, "You called the cops, now I'm pissed!" and went inside the house and turned on the burglar alarm that was so loud no one could be in the house. The police arrived and I showed them my permit and they said they weren't going to kick us out because we weren't doing anything wrong but ************************* said she wasn't going to allow us to stay. At the sake of trying to save my wedding day and weekend we decided to move out and get another rental as the burglar alarm was about to be turned back on. No refund given.

      This guest had ***** people at the home for a wedding. We have a signed rental agreement in which guest verified they would not be hosting an event or wedding. When we received multiple complaints about this large, unauthorized event the guest was required to vacate the property. This is outlined in the rental agreement and in accordance with local permits and ordinances that govern the home. This property is NOT AN EVENT SPACE we are very clear about this. We are required to follow all laws, ordinances, and policies that govern STVR in Tillamook County and so are our guests. This guest should have rented an event space and not a private home in a quiet community. It was a very scary situation for our management and we were glad the police were there to supervise this large wedding group as management (and the neighbors) felt very unsafe.

      It is full of misinformation and lies. She does this to people and gets away with it; I've read several cases and the current lawsuits she in in. She bragged to me about how good her lawyer is. People need to be warned to not rent her property.

      This is in response to our recent visit to a VRBO rental property. Our booking was for the dates of 10/6/22 - 10/9/22. The property ID is *******. During our first nights stay, My wife was showering our 7 year old daughter and my wife sent my daughter out as she was done. My wife then tried to slide the glass barn door and the wheels came off the track and the sliding door exploded and shattered with my wife in the shower. She had several cuts on her feet, arms, chest and neck. Im a builder and am very familiar with this barn door style glass shower door. Several pieces of hardware on the glass door were loose including the track wheels. I have pictures and video to show even the left slide panel was able to come off the track due to the faulty installation. When I brought this to the attention of *****, the Host, her first response was So you broke the Door. Her second response was this will be costly. There was not one concern for my wife or family, not one. The only follow up was an email from VRBO that they will be charging me $1,000 for the shattered door caused by their broken hardware. The correct response would have been to visit the home and see if everyone was ok and investigate the extremely dangerous situation and to have provided a refund for the trauma, injury and inability to use the full house because of their faulty hardware. My wife pulled glass from her upper chest the next day. If my 7 year old daughter would have still been in the shower, this could have been a completely different outcome.

      The shower is the same system we have in all of our homes. It is new and functioning perfectly when guests arrived as house was cleaned and inspected that day.

      We immediately sent maintenance and cleaning crew when we heard of the damage. Guest was very clear that no one was injured besides the scratches, which we are grateful for. Found that door was properly functioning and misuse caused damage. Repair cost is over $4500 damage deposit didn't cover cost of damage repair.
