    My sister and I and our mom have been coming to ************ and Staying at the Pelican Shores Inn for at least 15 years. We love(d) the place!!! We hadn't been there since 2019, due to Covid, etc. so it was time to go again. We decided to take mom and celebrate her 91st birthday. We arrived on ********. We always take our own food as we order a room with a cook top. So first off, the stove top burners would not heat up!! A guy came (learned later it was the manager) and banged around and got them going. Other complaints about the room are: The gas fireplace timer would not automatically turn off. Had to get up at 1:00 a.m. and turn it off. The bathroom fan timer would not turn off automatically as well. No plastic cups in the bathroom for tooth brushing. All motels have those!!!! Not this one anymore!! The sliding patio door would not close and lock without massive slamming, and pulling it toward you to latch. No shoe bristle brush outside for cleaning sand off shoes. No DVD player! There always used to be one! We took a DVD of a funeral of my mom's sister to watch on a bigger screen. Couldn't do it! They said you have to sign into your own account now to watch movies, etc.. Kitchen amenities were beyond scarce. We had to share a steak knife as there were only two! When we got home, my sister called and talked to someone at Westover Inns and he did not care about any of our complaints and told us to go find a new place!! We felt some type of refund was in order. On arrival, my sister and I asked to have each of our credit cards charged for one each for the two nights. My sister's card got the full bill. So, that was another phone call. We paid $259.92 per night. A total waste of good money! We were so surprised at how the place had depreciated in so many ways. So many of the creature comforts were now gone. We will never go back there. We would just like one night's refund as we feel, for what we got, the price was extravagant!
