    Hired Almighty Movers (AM) over a month before my elderly mother needed to be out of her apartment. The estimate was higher than originally quoted. ****** said the price would go down the more packing got done, materials purchased, furniture sold, etc. prior to his arrival, & to keep sending **************** (which we did). A $700 deposit was due to secure the date. We purchased packing materials, 20 medium size boxes, etc., packed items (which we send photos of). ****** reiterated he'd lower the price the more was done prior to his arrival, but the price remained the same. I texted to ask if it would still go down. No response. The day before our move (3 days before my mother had to be out of her apartment), ****** texted that the main charges covered travel costs, & only a small amount of packing & supplies, which included 10 medium size boxes (I told ************** had plenty of). We had relied on him to pack the rest of my mothers things. He gave us to understood that it would be covered IF we paid more. I told ****** if that was the case I would have hired another mover, likely could not on such short notice, that we were at our *** for moving costs. He told me to hire someone else. Panicked I called him, got his voicemail & pleaded for him to return my calls so we could be on the same page. No response. I asked if I would get my deposit back to hire another mover, but that I would like him to do the job as we'd agreed. He responded busy with another customer & that he'd get asap. A few hours later he said hed refund 1/2 our deposit & that a few hundred more would cover the whole move, & that the deposit was non-refundable. (This was ever mentioned, listed on his invoice, or website. He didn't return my calls or texts begging him to come finish the move. A friend (privy to our conversations) called & reached him on the phone. He promised he would call me back & do the move as agreed, but he didn't call, or show up, & has refused to return the deposit.

    I made moving from Manhattan to ******* on Dec 31, haven't received my items yet. The delivery was suppose to be Jan 16, but they didn't even wait for an hour . I had already informed them about the time I might be in office. Now, they are not even receiving my calls and I don't know where my stuff is. I want to charge a legal case against them if that's possible, given the mental pressure I am going through and not knowing where my stuff is.
