      Don't use Lam-Ait in Merlin. They over charge especially Seniors!

      These folks charge $100 a pound for refrigerant which costs about $13/pound. Ok, that's their choice to gauge on their prices. BUT, they also charged us for more refrigerant than can physically fit in the appliance and line set. They also did not repair the leak in the unit so that they were sure it would stop working again a year later.They're Professional scam artists!

      This company was sent out by my home warranty company to diagnose my heat pump which stopped blowing cold air. It took over a week just to get a tech out. After he was finishing with his assessment he determined that my compressor was no longer working. *** air sent the information to my warranty company with an estimated cost. My warranty company American Home shield will pay for all repairs-parts and labor- including up to $10 per pound of R-410 refridgerant. When I got the return estimate from AHS, which included "costs not covered" I was informed that my cost out of pocket would be $1568. When I called AHS to ask about this, they advised me that it was for the recarging of the system with refridgerant and it exceeded what was allowed by my contract. All other components and labor were covered by my contract.I called *** Air who claims that it costs $206 per pound to recharge my system. My heat pump holds approximately 8 pounds of refridgerant. According to other resources, the average cost to the consumer for R-410 is anywhere from $10-$75 per pound. *** Air is clearly trying to fleece me as the consumer. This company is not ethical nor professional. I could go on but I am running out of characters.
