My wife and I paid ***********************, owner of ALL ABOUT YOU PAINTING, LLC, $3,400 upfront, (100% of the money owed) to texture the sheetrock in our home. We additionally paid $3,900 as a deposit to paint the interior of our home, (total paid was $6,300). Since then, the company has refused to do the contracted work. NOTE: We paid all the money upfront for texturing because employee, ********************* kept "begging-begging-begging," us to "please-please-please" help the company out of some financial predicaments and emergencies, while at the same time guaranteeing, "Don't worry, I promise, we're going to do a really great job in your house." In April, 2023, when we signed the texture contract, ***** told us that the texture work would take no more than 3 days to complete. But then ********************* quickly fired his work crew, except for one person named "******." ****** subsequently quit. Then, while ******* and ***** went on a 2-week ******* cruise vacation, they promised to send their son "*******," to do the work. After ******* worked a few hours, he shockingly stated, "Okay, I'm done here, now give me MORE MONEY," when still, NOT ONE SINGLE ROOM IN THE HOUSE WAS YET FINISHED. Moreover, we had paid out of our own pockets $300 worth of material, which means by this time, they owed us money! Today (June 2023), after waiting 2.5 months for them to do the texture work, ******* and ***** had the gall to show up at our door and demand that we pay them MORE MONEY. When we hesitated, they revved up their car, roared off the property and now won't return any of our calls. Out of desperation, we have begun to do the hard work of texturing ourselves. Since it is too big a job for the two of us to do alone, we've also had to hire a 'real professional' to help us finish the work. We feel the actions of ALL ABOUT YOU PAINTING, LLC, located in Douglas County, ******, have been a deliberate attempt to financially exploit the elderly. I (the husband) am 74 years old.

This environment has become a hostile work environment. I will not subject my crew to the issues that arise when ********************* is on job site. I have complaints from all my crew past and present as to how while they were working she would change what she wanted done bring in other contractors from other places to work along side my crew. She has purposely taken it upon herself to drywall the walls that she felt was not up to her standards as a homeowner. She hired a drywall contractor and let him go before the whole job was done. We agreed to help her while letting her know full well that we are painters with a bit of experience in drywall. She proceeded to change what she wanted done multiple times and after closing the job out refused to pay the employee on job site that she knew full well could get the check had all permission to accept the check as well because he is an owner as well. She texted saying the job was great except for a crack that was missed and when owner ******* tried to collect after fixing the issue with the crack she and her husband wanted addressed she again refused to pay him stating she wanted us to be there to accept the check. When we did manage to go there she showed us around stating things that were acceptable and things she wanted addressed again. We knew if we did not address more that she would refuse to pay so we agreed to meet up again to touch on more spots she found. When we showed up she kicked us off the property because we did not call her before coming instead we texted her but that was not good enough. So we left per her wishes. We got to our other job that day and I got a call from a sheriff who stated he had a complaint that he wanted to talk to me about. I was out of service so it was a message left on my voice mail. When I called him back I was told a complaint had been filed but that he had voided the case number. He stated that when he called ********************* back she omitted  the truth and if he knew all the information she told him the second time that he would not have done opened a case and so he voided the case number and I told him thank you as she tried to tell him we were not there in 3 months. I have pics and proof we were and were working. She emails me telling me I now owe her money instead. I refused to pay her anything but did state I would meet her and show her my records and she could show me hers but she refused to meet at a mutual place and wanted me to go to her bank and give her money threatening me that she would proceed with legal options if I did not. I in turn contacted the *** and tried to file a complaint asking for a mediator to be present when we do this because she consistently tries to change things after they are agreed to and I dont trust her to keep her word. I am all for mediation to make payment schedule but refuse to do any more work for her. She lies and causes all of my crew to refuse to go back to her home. She has my tools too and I need them back as well.

Complaint #******** - I am rejecting this response because: ALL ABOUT YOU  PAINTING, LLC continuously (and unprofessionally) begged us to "please-please-please" give them more money UPFRONT even before they had completed the work claiming they had "financial emergencies."  Out of pity from their endless begging, we trustingly paid them 100% IN-FULL and UPFRONT for drywall work (actually, by this time AAYP owed us, the customers, $200 for materials).  On 06/28/2023 -- after waiting two and one-half months and still 95% of the work was yet incomplete -- they showed up at our house and refused to do any further work, unless we paid them even MORE money, which, by this time, we felt was tantamount to EXTORTION.  When we hesitated to pay them more, they bolted and would not return texts or calls.  Regrettably, in January 2023, we also paid them $3,900 for paint, but after waiting 5 months, they still have not delivered one single can of paint to our home.  Thus, we paid them $3,700 (for the #1st BREACHED contract), and $3,900 (for the #2nd BREACHED contract), for a total of $7,600.  AAYP owes us a minimum of a $6,800 refund for breaching not one, but TWO contracts!   We asked owner of AAYP, ***************************, to meet us at a local bank, a safe, public place where there would be cameras and witnesses, so we could 1) Negotiate a fair refund and,  2) Return the few items AAYP left on our premises, but *************************** declined.  She subsequently asked us if we would meet her and her manager at "a picnic table in a park," to which we declined, due to safety concerns.  CONCLUSION: These people begged us to pay UPFRONT more and more money and after we paid IN-FULL (+++), AAYP unethically refused to finish the work for which they contracted, and UNSCRUPULOUSLY refused to refund any of our $7,600 prepaid monies.

When we signed a contract (January 2023) with ALL ABOUT YOU PAINTING, LLC, (AAYP) to paint the interior of our home, we paid AAYP a deposit of $3,900, which AAYP claimed would cover the cost of paint. AAYP said they would purchase the paint and store it in our home. Six months have passed (July 2023) and we have not received a single can of paint from them, yet AAYP refuses to paint or issue us a refund. We signed a second contract (April 2023), to repair and texture the drywall of 8 rooms, 9 closets in our home. **** told us that the texture work would take about 3 days to complete. Two months later, **** left for a 2-week vacation when about 95% of the work remained unfinished. While absent, AAYP sent someone to patch some areas of a ceiling in one room, however, after working a few hours, he stated, "okay, I'm done, please pay me more money," when still, 95% of the 8 rooms, 9 closets had not yet been textured and we had already paid AAYP 100% upfront -- and in fact -- by this time, AAYP owed us money ($200), as AAYP kept pressuring us to pay them in advance for texturing work, due to what they claimed were financial emergencies. Then, in June of 2023, after waiting 2 and 1/2 months for the texturing work to be completed, **** asked us yet again to pay them more money or they would cease working for us. When we tried to explain that at this point they owed us money, **** left the premises and would not respond to our texts or calls. We are dissatisfied because we have paid AAYP a total of $7,600 while only about 5% of the work has been completed. We have asked AAYP to issue us a nominal refund, but they have refused.

This environment has become a hostile work environment. I will not subject my crew to the issues that arise when ********************* is on job site. I have complaints from all my crew past and present as to how while they were working she would change what she wanted done, bring in other contractors from other places to work along side my crew and give advice as to how to do this or that. She has purposely taken it upon herself to drywall the walls that she felt was not up to her standards as a homeowner. She hired a drywall contractor and let him go before the whole job was done. She has my tools too and I need them back as well. I sent her a packet to sign and send back for mediation from the *** and she ignored me to do this here. So again I am all for giving her her money back on a payment plan minus cost and labor already accounted and paid for in advance. The continued notion that I refuse to pay is absurd. I have on many occasions said I will set up a payment plan for the refund of what she is owed I jus t want this to be fair for both parties because I know for a fact that she has already lost contractors due to the way she does things. I want out of this contract before things get even worse. I have my records and she hopefully has hers and I would like a third party who has nothing to do with this to help me make this fair and public so that she cannot continue to slander my company and crew. She has lied and continues to lie and I do not believe in her not trying to change things up once we have reached an agreement. This is by far not all that has gone down but I wanted it to be a summary rather than a book. Thank you for your help any way to get this completed is welcomed.

      Complaint: 20253255

I am rejecting this response because: Owner, ***********************, along with her manager ********************* came to our house several times, begging and pressuring us to pay them more money in advance, due to what they frantically claimed were "financial emergencies."  After we foolishly and continuously gave them more money in advance (thinking we were helping them out of crises), and after we had waited 2 months for this company to do what ***** claimed would only take about 3 days to do, Dezaray and ***** left for a two-week ******* cruise vacation, when at the time of their departure, about 95% of the work had NOT been completed.  When they returned from vacation, they inspected my home and promised to come back "on Tuesday," to finish the contracted work.  Tuesday passed with no one showing up, and on Wednesday, they arrived to our home unannounced and demanded that we paid them even more money  or they would leave our premises, even though, by this time, they owed us $200.  When we hesitated, they left and refused to do any further work.  Conclusion:  We have been greatly harmed financially by this company.  After we paid ******* and ***** $7,600 ($7,300 in advance + $300 in materials), and after we waited 2 and 1/2 months for this company to complete the contracted work, only about 5% was ever completed.  Not only did these unethical people "grab our money and run," but their constant inability (over a period of 2 and 1/2 months) to get an employee to show up for work, set our construction project months behind schedule, causing additional financial harm.  Under these circumstances, it is undeniable that this company owes us a refund of at least $6,000.  We were kind enough to lower the amount we would accept to $5,000, and we even offered them a monthly payment schedule if they could not pay us the $5,000 in a lump payment, however due to this company's highly unscrupulous and unprofessional business practices, they refuse to issue us a refund of any kind.
      Sincerely,

      *****************

I am trying to resolve this dispute and get a payment schedule set up, but this lady does not seem interested in resolving this mater. She has now decided to use another form of her name and pull another complaint for the same situation. I am not getting anywhere with her as she does not want to settle but continue to smear my business with derogatory remarks across any social media platform she can. She continues to attack us but will not work on settling this issue. As I said she is difficult and refuses to work with us to resolve the issues. I so not know what my options are and where to go from here. Now if you look up our business it shows 2 complaints, but they are the SAME JOB AND THE SAME PERSON WITH A DIFFERENT NAME!!! I had been keeping in contact with her waiting for the drywall to be completed so we could start the painting and after a month or so when we asked how's it going she told us it was slow and laid on us all the issues she was having getting things done so in order to keep the job moving forward we were asked to come in before the whole job was ready and just primer a few walls after the drywall was done so she can see progress and we can keep the job moving forward. At first, we were hesitant because that's not how you do things. You do not go in and do pieces of a job before it is done because of the issues that can arise like walls being scuffed hit messed up scratched ETC. But against our usual and to help her get her job done quickly we agreed. We sent our crew to prime a few walls in the new con side of her home and when we got as far as we could we left again. Finally, we were called by her begging for help because she lost the drywall contractor she hired as well as I believe two general contractors she had hired. I should have known then this would escalate into a huge ordeal. I have labor and materials spent on this job and have waited months for her to be ready to start. I have had crews out at her home working their butts off to make her happy and leaving her job site with her saying that she sees them doing good work and when I commented they were not working as quickly as should be she states she called another contractor to go to job site and "Supervise" my crew. Ok whatever she wants but she was informed that if the contractor comes on our job site and messes with our work that we cannot give a warranty as we cannot with good faith tell what our crew did and what her second contractor did. Then on top of that we find out the contractor has been using our supplies and equipment to work on the job we were contracted to do. We also found out that while we were working on her jobsite and close the job for the night to go home, she would go in after our crew and start going over the job working the drywall herself with our tools and materials as well. I cannot in good faith tell what anyone did individually at this point. We had told her if we were to take the job to complete the drywall after the last contractor whom she hired refused to finish her home because she decided to change what she wanted halfway through the job. She was told it would cost more money from the drywall contactor ************************* and she did not want to pay it. To get to our painting job we offered to help her as she was very adamant that she was spending so much money in space rent for her RV and storage while she waited for her home to be done. She gave us a sob story about how much it cost each month for her, and we are good people who understand hard times. We opened a business in the middle of Covid issues! So, we told her that we could help as we had someone who did drywall before. Not that they were contracted but she didn't mind as she could not find anyone to help her after she chased off the last one. She knew that we are not drywall contractors but could do patch jobs and small work because we do that when painting. You sometimes have to repair issues with the drywall when painting. She was happy we were going to try to help her. Then we told her that we have a trip that had been planned since last year and would be gone from mid-June for 2 weeks and she said that was fine. We kept in contact when we could as we were on a cruise to ****** and in the middle of the sea it is difficult to get reception. When we were able to call our guys, we were told that the job was finished by ******* that he had gone out and walked around with ***** and her husband and together they all went over what was needing to be done and that they would mark what needed addressed to be completed. Well after ******* finished up, he received a message saying that there was one crack that was missed and that they had missed it when they did the walk around. He told them that was why they needed to mark each area that needed addressed and that it was ok he would come out to fix the last crack and close the job out. Which was how it was supposed to go. They should have paid him out and then we could have gone on to painting but halfway through she (*****) wanted to change all the drywall that the other contractor had done to match the old section of the house. She stated that she didn't like the way he had done *************** texture in the new con section of the home and that she'd like US to fix that too. That was not in the contract we did not bid the job for doing the whole home new con and remolded side. Now she refused to pay us for the job because she wanted us to go back and redo what she paid someone else to do. After she refused to pay ******* out to close the job, AFTER they had done the walk around and said it was done, we agreed to meet up and go over what was needed to get paid and move on the actual job of painting which we were contracted for since January! She was told we were working other jobs because she had closed the job with *******, we opened another job. So, we had a free moment to go out to her place and see what we could do to move this along and ******* texted her letting her know we were able to come out there. We went out and she was not there yet but was on her way according to the NEW contractor whom she hired to REPLACE us without letting us know a thing. She refused to talk to us as told us that because we did not call but instead texted her, we were not allowed there so we left. Long story short she called the sheriff on us lying to him stating we had not showed up for months, but I have proof in hours and materials receipts as well as photos of us there and some of what was done. I would love to resolve this and get over this, but she seems to love drama and will not resolve this. I feel we were taken advantage of and wanted to part ways before this became an even bigger issue. Our crew did the job for the drywall and completed it to her satisfaction with our crew member *******, but she refuses to close the contract stating that they did not do a good job but honestly, I cannot tell what they did what her new contractor did and what she did. When she took matters into her own hands and started messing with the work that was being done, we should have left but we wanted to help her as she kept telling us of all the money, she was out each time her home doesn't get finished and I have been in similar circumstances so I felt for her struggles but she soon turned into a problem wanting us to fix issues that we had nothing to do with! Now I cannot get any form of communication from her. I am at a point where I will gladly pay back the Interior painting deposit but nothing for the drywall! We have spent way to long at her home way too many materials and supplies to pay her for the drywall job. She wants to charge me for materials when the contract says we provide the materials. We have calls from our crew when they need supplies, and we go get them. She took it upon herself to go get materials then call us and tell us that she was taking it out of our money owed without even producing receipts or reasons behind purchasing them. If they were needed our crew would not hesitate to call as they had already done just that, and I had no issues going to get the material and delivering it to job site. Here we are fast forward months, and she wants a full refund of the paint job deposit as well as money for the drywall??? No way! I will pay back her $3900 in payments as she took such a long time to get the job done that, we had unfortunately absorbed the money from her deposit. Some of it was used for her drywall supplies!!! I have no issue paying what she is owed but no more. I want to be done with this as soon as possible and wanted a third party involved so she could not continue to try to ******* us out of time and money and continue to harass us through social media outlets. I have her going under 3 different names to smear us and I have strangers come up to me to ask about this job. We have done many jobs and there is always one bad customer that can never be satisfied, I have been in business a little over a year and a half and can say that with all the jobs we have done we have a satisfaction rate of close to 100%. We strive to make our customers completely satisfied and even return months later if they call us about something that was needing attention. We love going in and resolving anything for them even if it was not a result of an application error sometimes it has nothing to do with painting and we are just helping out a customer that needs help. We have gone above and beyond the requirements of a complete paint job we buy new lights when needed we do out building for free, we even help move furniture and clean up other issues, we help our clients find other contractors when they need them because we are connected to the contracting community. We are a good company, and this is wrong that she can come in cause problems and think she can get away with it and scam us out of money! Please help bring an end to this I would greatly appreciate it.

Unfortunately, what i try to attach is not being allowed and I would like to show what i have for documents and messages of her telling our owner/******* that it was done except for one crack! I also have him replying that he had asked them to mark everything that needed done before he came out there to finish the job. She responded that she and her husband had missed it and if he could come out to fix it that would be great, he went and did just that then she refused to close the job out and wanted us there to get the "Check". He is an owner of the business too and she could have delt with him but was stringing him along to try to charge us more money and have us repair what the previous contractor did that she didn't like. I will gladly have statements from other contractors that have had to work with her about how she conducts business and i will gladly set up a plan to pay back the deposit but nothing more! I feel she has tried to scam more than just myself since moving here and that she will stop at nothing to ruin a good company's reputation because she is a difficult woman to work for and the way she conducts business is horrible then when she has to actually pay up, she comes up with a bunch of garbage as to why she will not and tries to make me pay her! I have gas receipts, labor cost, as well as supplies and materials expenses. I have no problem paying back the painting deposit as we did not do the job and we will never work for her again and we will tell all we know to not do business with her either.

I was just wondering where we are at with this. I have been diligently checking my email for the next step and since this is my first time dealing with this I am unclear at the steps. I have information receipts payroll pics and more to submit with someone to help me with this conflict. I am just waiting for someone to say who to give it to. I want this situation over with as soon as I can. If I could get an email on how to proceed or what to do that would be ever so helpful!!!
