My husband was putting wood away, when a fellow approached him, and asked if we had a few driveway holes to fill?? He said they were next street over and did a driveway and had material left. He told my husband hed just charge for material he put in holes. My husband had two hundred bucks in his pocket and thought that should cover it. My husband should have asked more questions, for sure! The next thing guys and trucks show up and they did the driveway! Then he tells my husband $7400.00!!! My husband , dumbfounded wrote a check to them. He gave my husband a piece a paper to sign, which he did, unfortunately. When we looked at it it said for agreed price before doing, which was not true. It had a start date of2/20/23 and finish date of 2/23/23. They were here no more than two hours. And we waited two weeks for it to dry and when it hadnt, we called they said it will dry. Drive on it. It left big ruts in material. We complained he said he come back in a couple weeks and fix it, never happened, so called again they said when we get up that way again?? We also did some research and measuring of there work and they over charged us by about $2,400 also, I believe it was. The whole thing was probably a scam cause we didnt find a fresh driveway a street over and how do you have enough left over to do part of another one if you just did one?? They still havent paid money back after acknowledging over charge!

They said they would come back and fix it , that still has not happened.  It took months before you could stand on it without leaving an indintation.  His form says agreed upon amount before work done, but that is not how it was, we never saw a form at all until he gives my husband an invoice for $7000.00!!!!! He asks my not thinking husband to sign it, which he did without having time to read the very long form, stupid move, but that doesnt change how it went down.  Flat fee is not true, we would never have done it if he would have said $7,000t!!!  He said the cost of materials, no labor charges, so at that we looked it up and measured it and did the math and it was way over!!  If I remember correctly over a thousand dollars over. I guess I missed this email, I wondered why I hadnt heard anything from you. I want the money over charge especially , if not more, the job is not even even. The original hole he was going to fill In is still  not level. It was months before we could park or drive in driveway.  And why do jobs so far from home if you cant even make sure theyre right. There was not a set price or a flat fee that is a lie!!  I wish that had been the case and we wouldnt have the problem we have now. He ripped us off and is not even remotely telling the truth, I think he saw and older fella and tried to take advantage of him. My husband is almost 70 and very white haired

I did not refuse his offer .  Im not sure what hes offering?  There was no flat fee ever said if there had been we would not even be at this point.  His invoice says it too, but we never saw invoice till he was askin for $7500. That is a lot to fill in a few holes!  We asked him cost of material and did some homework and we came up with. $ ****.  Measuring it all out.  My husband was stupid to just sign where he told him without reading a thing, but we never saw anything until he was asking for $7,500. To our shock.  Doing homework online and a few calls and we overpaid for material left.   We did not get told we would not be able to park in our driveway for almost three months and when we did give up on it drying and drove anyway on it, it left ****** and ruts.  We got a heavy hand roller and worked at trying to get it smoothed out a little. The asphalt is all over it does not stay were layer its in our grass even. I would like some of money back, I fell over charged and not happy with job at all . They cant even tell us when they could fix it, they say when theyre up this way and its been 4 or 5 months. I dont want them back but I was wrongly charged there was no flat fee!!
