      Insufficient information was provided from my initial email contact with McMenamins, for me to make my reservation. I was told I could use my cc to book the room and then use my gift card at check-in. Nothing was mentioned about this not being applicable to all reservation types, thus I booked the room in good faith.

      This situation started with a misunderstanding over email regarding a non refundable preapaid hotel promo.   Situation could have been handled much better by staff member who could have clarified the position, but stuck to policy over guest relationship.  The guest was reached out to and the situation rectified.

      McMenamins has responded to my report and have accepted " at fault" for misinformation and incomplete customer service advice. They have comped 2 nights of accommodation and upgraded my room.

      I am very satisfied with their response and actions, and I thank BBB for your support.
